Been tossing this Idea around about selling pages in my songs books as advertising space for local business..Sounds pretty simple?...
maybe xx$ per page per book for a limited time ..
Is anyone doing this or something similiar ?

I've actually considered doing this, but when I sat down and thought about it, it seemed that the limited dollars I would make would not be worth the headaches and bookkeeping that would go along with it.
You'd have to keep track of when each advertiser's time begins and ends. How much is each ad costing? What happens if they don't pay on time? Is it worth it to go after them for your money? How do you decide who gets the most prominant spaces in the book?

I would keep it simple - They would pay in advance - It would be a simple 1 page ad - that either would be a copy of an existing flyer or ad they already have or maybe just a simple NAME & ADRESS & TEL# that could be made with a simple word processor. The price would be low enough were as it wouldnt be a major expenditure for most but if you could add a few pages to you current book that would pay for the cost of updateing your books ...I think it would be worth it ...in this business every little but helps
I thought about taking a page from.. my "radio days" and Trading ads in my song books too for discounts on karaoke media or "trying" to barter out equipment for it. I doubt it's possible with even my connections but discounts are a maybe.. but i bet it's gonna be a real hard sell..
