Please Help!! I have been looking to buy karaoke equiptment for 2 weeks the bar that i am going to be doing karaoke equiptment already has house sound but i still want a player and a mixer and want to add on my own amp and speakers at a later time for if i do different gigs. What should i get!!! whats good , what do i need!! i was interested in vocopro dual cdg player 8000 and the 8000 mixer but then i though the tripple tray rsq and a mackie mixer cfx 12 might be better, which way should i go i want my singers to sound good and i want to have good equiptment..... thanks

I'd recommend either the RSQ or JVC tripple drawer player. They are about the same. My understanding is the only difference is the RSQ uses a plastic laser lens while the JVC uses a glass. I'd definately stay away from the Vocopro if you're going to use it for profesisonal gigs (just an opinion). There are a lot of good mixers/amps out there, that's just a matter of comparing them.

Ok, Thanks that helped me decied which player to get and it just so happens to be less expensive then the vocopro. No ive got to get a good starter set of cdgs. How many should a big bar ( approx 300 people ) start out with?!?

A good starter set is the DK Millenium, About 1700 well picked karaoke songs. Prices vary but I've seen it on sale for less than 1000.00
Recently the Sound choice Foundation 1 and Foundation 2 sets have come down in price 4 - 500.00 each, 450 songs each
Also the Sound choice Bricks are great additions to any set. There are 5 Bricks and they are about 120.00 each.

The DKM or Foundations are quality starter packs which usually get few complaints from singers. If you add a teen pack and a few newer Pop Hits Monthly discs to one of the starter sets you will have a pretty nice book.
My opinion of amount of songs to make a new show with 300 people work: At least 2000 Quality songs.

Only downfall with the DK Millenium set is that you will need to supplement newer songs from the last 5+ or so years. The Foundation sets have current music up to 2000 & then they also sell current party sets to supplement as well. You could also get the last few years through the Pop Hits Monthly series (not Top Hits Monthly - quality isn't as good).
