One thing I would do is not trying music CD-R discs. From what I heard, the music CD-R does not give the recording the same kind of accuracy of burning as the date discs. For most of the music, missing a bit here and there doesn't really alter the overall sound because your ears can not detect the differences. However, the graphics part of CD+G is not audio but data so missing bits come up as artifacts. Try sticking to the data discs and avoid music discs when burning CD+G.

Does this problem happen when ripping discs, or during some other operation?

I also use power cd+g burner and I have had very good luck with it I have used many different brands of cdr I too would suggest that you use Data cdr seems to work better than the music cdr Do you have a lot of stuff running in the background? Screensavers popping up? try turning most of that stuff off it may help.
