we are having trouble with our equipment....my husband is vocalist singer and this is our set up....
he has laptop connected to line 11/12 with jack and groun loop connector with 2 jacks to amp
radio mike in line 1
ear monitor in mon 1
speakers obviously in back are 250 watts each

there seems to be no umph with the sound and is not blasting out
now we have a problem when we turn amp on it buzzes like mad when he goes to use his mike...  then when we turn it off and back on its fine for about hour then does it again...

it has only been used about 6 times and was brand new when bought about 4 months ago
hope someone really can help with this very annoyin problem

It almost sound like the wireless mic is the culprit on the buzzing, could be interference from flourescent or neon signs, or it's close to an unshielded cable.  
What kind of speakers are you running make/model - this will help us determine the efficiency in relation to the amp.  The mixer only puts out 215 watts per channel into 8 ohms so there really won't be a TON of oomph to begin with.  Also make sure the amp bridge switch in the upper left is set to both mains & not mon./main.

I have the equivalent mixer (slightly older model, the PMH3000).

You can peg the gain fader on the mains without distortion, in my experience. I don't know what speakers you have, but I have run them into Peavey PR-10s, MTX TP-112s, and Behringer B1520s. While as Lonman says, it isn't a *ton* of oomph, I have done karaoke at an outdoor venue where I didn't peg the gains fader. And it was pretty loud.

what does peg the fader mean ???? sorry if i sound thick but we are pretty new to this

he has checked got the switch on mains...

he said he is certain it to do with mike because he has used different mikes corded and cordless

Push the fader to "10", or all the way up.


You can set the amp on the powered mixer to any of three modes. "Main" is stereo, with mains connected to A and B.  "Mon" is the one where the main signal (in mono) is on B and monitor 1 on A. "Bridge" means you go the bottom position on the switch, and it sends both amp halves bridged together on output B. I would think it would be rare to use that one for that amp, since you can't bridge to 4 ohms with that mixer. You can run one speaker.



I don't know what you mean by that.

I have not heard of these, I have seen some on Ebay UK, is this a UK based company.  These possibly could be the culprit to the low sound, however I don't think that is the actual model number to try to find any documentation.



Turn the mains all the way up, although I am not real familiar with that term either  :wave:
