I'm  looking hard at buying this powered mixer.  Is anyone using it?   Any thoughts from the board on this mixer?

Yamaha makes good gear.  It's an older board, not a real powerful amp, about 100 watts into 8 ohms per channel, 200 into 4 ohms - it's not going to match up to very many club sized PA speakers very efficiently & you could end up blowing the speakers by underpowering them (underpowering tends to leads to turning the volume up more to compensate for lack of power driving the signal into clipping which is a main cause for speaker failure).
Now if it's for home/private use, you would probably be ok, for club use, i'd opt for something a little better.

Unless you're doing all small venues at lower decibels I would keep looking for something more powerful. You might also want to look at ebay for something newer. If you really look (if you have the time) you can find some good deals on ebay, you just have to be careful and do some research so you know what to look for as far as what models etc. Get more power than you think you need, you'll end up with the right amount or still less than what you REALLY want once you get the itch for more and more power.
