hi smiler again
can anyone please assist with my dilemma
i can't decide between Behringer B212's or Peavey Pro 12's speakers
i only plan on doing small venues 50 to 100 people max.
also can anyone suggest a reasonable flat bed mixer amp which will support either of the speakers above.
thanks in advance

I would go with the Peavey. I have a pair of the PR 15s that I use on occasion. VERY lightweight. As I recall, the prices on the Peavey and Behringer are about the same.
As far as a mixer amp, try the Yamaha. It would work well with the speakers, although 12s with no sub won't give you much bass. Behringer also makes a couple of mixer amps like you're describing, if you're willing to take the risk (below average reliability).

Since Peavey is the top of the low class range, and Behringer is mid of the low class range, I would go for ????

Not so, completely depends on the model & EVERY manu has their low quality models. The PR just happens to be Peaveys. I would still opt for those over a Behringer equivalent anyday.

I had used the Peavey PR12 - lighweight and a great speaker for small to medium rooms. As with any 12" they could use a little bass punch but all in all a great value
recently - 4 weeks ago I sold the Peavey and did buy the Behringer B212
What I can tell you is this - I like the LOOK of the Behringer Better, they are smaller and actually LIGHTER than the Peaveys . They are STACKABLE if you need that and the most important factor is they SOUND crisper and cleaner than the Peaveys
all in all I would say the Behringer is a slightly better buy than the Peavey. ( in this case) BUT the Peaveys are GREAT speakers too.
Yamaha and Peavey make som great powered mixer amps -- I also went the route of a Behringer and as far as overall value ..A much better unit.
Yamaha and Peaveys are GREAT ...But I found I could save a lot if money with Behringer without any loss of features of quality

I doubt you would be disappointed if you were to find a used Yamaha EMX5000-12. It actually supplies the rated power (500 watts per side @ 4ohms, 325 @ 8 Ohms). I've always been skeptical of Behringers power claims, I think they might be using peak instead of continuous. Plus the Yamaha build quality is far superior in my opinion. I own the Yamaha, but i have used the Behringer boards and they just aren't in the same league with each other.

Buy quality.
I always suggest a seperate amp and mixer vs a combo unit.
Go with a mackie or yamaha mixer and a qsc or crwom amp.
My pick would be a Yamaha MG 16/4 - $230 and a QSC GLX5 - $400

I am not sure what a "flat bed mixer amp" is, but I am guessing it is like my PMH3000. It drives the PR-10 / PR-Sub combo I have, with 400W into 4 ohms and 225W into 8 ohms. (RMS, not peak.) That is enough to drive the PR-12 in a small-medium size room.
I use that with the PR-10s or my TP112s for small parties or gigs.

I would assume by 'flat bed' he means a desktop model as opposed to a box style.
