Ok, so receiving SPAM with the "FROM" field showing some random email address is one thing, but this one is way more serious IMO.
I had an email in my bulk folder this morning with a subject line spouting great saving on Gucci Prada Fendi etc... The problem with this email is that the "FROM" field contained my own email address!
Now I do not send out SPAM and I never will... Geez, I get enough of that carp not to have to start sending it to MYSELF!
Anyone here had a similar thing?
Fear not. This is common, and is sometimes even done by your mailer agent when it finds a blank From: address.

My biggest concern is that if they can send it to me, then what is stopping them sending SPAM all over the net with my address on it?
Just thinking of the lawsuit I could come up with against Gucci, Prada, Fendi, etc fraudulently using my name to endorse their products... Class Action anyone?
Don't worry. They have your email address anyway, and since From: is so trivially forged, no one pays attention to it anyway when combatting spam.
The worst thing that can happen is that you get a bunch of bounced messages from lousy mail transfer agents that "bounce" undelivered (or undeliverable) messages. And that is happening less and less as the large email systems reduce what they call "backscatter".
