I sometimes think our rural area is 2 years ahead of the whole world in regards to karaoke tends and patterns. For 2 years I have told everybody what will happen in their area. This is a direct response and addendum to the karaoke decline thread. I firmly believe with all of the thousands I have put into my system I have a business that will compete with any band or other type of entertainment. With technology we can provide many things which a few years ago were unaffordable or not adaptable to a small venue.

At this point in time we have the world by the hand. We can supply entertainment for any venue at an equitable price. As of now we desperately need an infastructure and an organization to promote the profession. We need to totally change the public image of karaoke. It is no longer a bunch of drunks trying to be stars, it is a viable entertainment source.

Rather than trying to preserve the old traditions  we need to be discussing ways to enhance our profession and present it in a professional manner. We need to improve our public image.

I started this small business just for a supplemental income but out of habit and dedication I put everything I had into it. I am very proud of it and I do not like anybody calling me a crook or being illegal. Anybody trying to make a go out of this business has my full support and I will fight for your rights tooth and nail.

LMAO Ollie

I think you misunderstood my intentions in the other thread. I wasn't discussing preserving old traditions, of which I'm not aware there were any. Maybe that's because I'm green and nothing about it is old...

Anyway, I was just asking a simple question about whether there's the same number of karaoke singers as there used to be.

I think we all get the picture that you are no longer a KJ.

The whole gest of this thread is not what happened but what will happen. If you are in a large metropolitan area it might be delayed or might never happen. But in 90% of the bars this trend will progress. Karaoke is not dying it is going through a change.

I agree karaoke is not dying but just changing and I like it. In my area band can't compete with karaoke.

LMAO Woo What a relief. I was a little scared there for a moment.
I wanted to be ready for karaoke armageddon if it was coming.
