I've just returned from LV. While scouting out karaoke venues, I ran into a brand new place in "China Town" that has private studios. The rooms start at $20 an hour, depending on size. Some of the following information will be vague because I only toured the facilities and tried one song. Jian could probably help by expanding upon what I have deduced?
The rooms have their own:
lighting
speakers
audio controls (that are not to be touched by customers)
a computerized systems with over 10,000 songs, I was told, on chip(s)
So, it ends up that the library is not part of a central data bank (as theorized in previous threads); rather, each room has its own "computer"
The tracks are produced in Asia and have videos accompanying them
Many of the songs have both english and (english transliterated into in Japanese or Korean?)
They do not want you touching the controls for the effects; rather, you are suppose to call an employee in to do so!
