Isn't this a karaoke discussion form? Are the NKOBs putting out karaoke music? Seems like this should go in the off-topic discussion.

Whatever floats your boat I always say. Heck I saw Barry Manilow a few years back at the Houston Stock show and it was a good show, especially when he covered Cemetary gates. OK, I made the last part up, but it was fun.

Stone Temple Pilots touring this year, now there is something for me to get excited about! Now if Weiland will just stay sober and make all of the shows it could be the tour of the year. ( at least for us old rockers )

Oh c'mon Vicki...  I'm sure he'll be as valuable and popular as a big dog with rabies  leading a venomous sidewinder snake into town!

Their concert here in Ct was supposedly fabulous (according to 6 neighbors that went to see them down at the Casino this past week). I passed, had little interest in going. Yet those that saw them, loved the concert (fabulous reviews)

Thanks for the heads up Steve. Truthfully there are few bands that I would still go see in concert, I just don't like being in large crowds anymore. I would rather go see a good cover band in a more intimate setting.

However there are 2 bands I would like to see this year and one of them is Stone Temple Pilots. The other is Cinderella, I saw them a few years ago and Tom Keifer is an amazing showman. He can play multiple instruments, guitar, sax, piano and has what I think is an amazing voice.

Both these bands have a good catalog of songs which is more than most of the bands that came from those eras can say. Now if I can just get back in my spandex pants again! [schild=15 fontcolor=C0C0C0 shadowcolor=C0C0C0 shieldshadow=1]woo![/schild]

It's time to admit my shame.  I saw them live.

My dad took me as a surprise birthday present when I was 12.  He wouldn't say where, but as I saw Wembley approaching, I became aware of the NKOTB signs everywhere.

Unfortunately, this was towards the beginning of the end, they were no longer cool, it was around the time of the "No More Games" joke of a remix album.  That nobody bought.

It was hell :(

I also must confess to seeing them live...sometime around '89 or '90...I don't recall the exact year. I was around 17 or 18, and my baby sister was 13 or 14, and was DYING to go see NKOTB. So, my mom bought two tix, handed 'em to me, and said "You take her".

I've been scarred ever since LOL

As a side note, a few years after that show, in '94, they had their big-flop "comeback", and did an appearance at the store I was working in (hint: predominantly blue with a yellow price tag as their logo). We had girls from about 12, to by that point about 25 years old lined up around the store before we opened. I ended up getting drafted for crowd control duty...and these girls...including some of the younger ones...made me some AMAZING offers if I could get them hotel or backstage access to the band...

Groupies...sheesh LOL

I just love the new MP3 juke boxes at bars that can download almost any song. Playing NKOTB songs is always a good time. Everybody makes a face and acts like they hate the song, but all of a sudden everyone smiles and sings along. I have a few others I play like Poison (Bell Biv Devoe), Linus and Lucy (the Snoopy Theme Song), Puff the Magic Dragon, and my favorite is Remind Me (the Geico Caveman Song at the airport). I love watching everybody act like they actually hate these songs, but sing along like me. Good Times. I have no interest in seeing NKOTB but I bet they will put a good show on for those that are fans.

I've actually heard that they are pretty good. I'm a classic rock and car song kind of guy, so I haven't given them a listen. Maybe my 26 year old step daughter will let me hear them on her PC. She's into that stuff.
