Gas prices in Canada ranges from probably $4.85-$5.05-10 across the nation. it may range a little higher or lower in some areas.
The main reason you see high gas prices is taxes (here about 30-40% of the price) and exhorbantly higher in Europe.

Myth: It's a supply and demand thing....you can buy all the gas you want, so that's bull sh!t, and they could produce more oil and gas, if they wanted to do so. In the 70s, the gas shortage was proven, by our government, to have been artificially brought on by the oil companies. No one was every charged with a crime though. Have you noticed, the more miles we squeeze out of a gallon of gas, the higher the price goes? Using less gas will not bring down the price, and the oil companies simply raise the price to maintain profits, no matter how little gas we use. It will, make the oil supply last longer, so they will be able to gouge us, long into future generations. It's a double wammy, because you also pay thousands of dollars for the innovations that improve gas milage, if only in the constant repair of these features when they fail. E-85 has a ratio of about 1 to 7, gasoline to ethanol, so if everybody used e-85, gas would go up to at least 7 fold to maintain the profit margin. Compitition is the only thing that can drive down the price of oil, and even with E-85, gas is only competing with itself. Plus, if you've seen the commercials, the oil companies are working on alternate energy sources, so it looks like the evil bass turds will be in charge of them too.

I never thought of it that way.
My concern is mainly that as gas prices go up it effects the economy. The price of most everything go goes up because of it.
At the gas pump we can buy more fuel efficient cars which can save us money, but what does the transport business do? It is more important for them to get the break not us so the price of goods doesn't go up.
It would not bother me to see them get a tax break. Farmers do for the fuel for their trackers.
As far as a website Johnny. I know there is one I've found it before. I looked it up because I heard on the radio the breakdown for Chicago. We have some of the highest tax rates here. That is why our gas is higher than most of the rest of the country. Over a $1 a gallon here is part of the overall cost.
I put in a post up above some info.

wanna a good laugh?....Iraqis pay about 1.36 for gasoline, while countries that our service men could hit with a rock pay under 50 cents as you can see by the list above. So our boys die by the thousands, get mamed by ten times that number, while the rest of our service personel return home to no job, divorce papers, and have to rebuild their lives from the ground up, all for the sake of people that value human life, less than that of a goat or a camel.....what are our brave men and women charged for fuel for the jeeps, tanks, etc.......while they are in Iraq? Same price you and I pay for it here in the states.......kinda grabs ya by the boo boo, don't it?......when it comes to problems needing the most attention, the wars didn't even come in first or second, when polling the American people....hey, if it doesn't affect you, or someone you love, who cares........that's the "American Way"

Thank the Lord that we are getting the Economic Stimulus Checks this year. Wow. What are we all going to spend that on.....Gasoline? Well we are whether you want to believe it or not. Even if you spend that money directly on something else, other money that would have been allocated for whatever you spend it on will be diverted to oil. How many million people times $600 or so....Hmmmmm....that is a nice chunk of change that the oil companies will be getting. If I own, or am associated with oil companies, and I can drive prices up, then make money available for people to spend, knowing that they need money to pay for the oil we drove up....I must be a genious.
As for oil in other places, well, we send food and supplies all over the world. We close our factories to move them to other countries. We buy merchandise from other places that have absolutely no regulation (lead in paint on kids toys, radioactive metals in dental materials, toxins in toothphste with counterfeit markings, etc). I am an American and I love this place, but we gotta take care of our own rear ends at some point and quit helping the economy of other companies. I will say that my financial advisor put me in some emerging markets in southeast asia and it made me a nice bit of money for my retirement.

I just heard on the news tonight we can expect to see $5.50 at the pump soon. By the end of the year $7 a gallon and it will be higher if there is terrorism or a bad turn in the war.

mmmmm electric commuter cars sound better all the time!
Hybrids, even sucky ones, are outselling non-hybrids. Ford is closing plants that make the F250 and higher trucks as well as the hummer (which they're contemplating dumping at an abysmal price instead of when they were hot!) are closing...

Again Babs what is just said is the main reason for oil being artificially so high. fear mongering.
