How dare someone give an honest critique instead of fluffon SS!!!!! I was so silly at first to believe that people wanted honesty. Now I just don't comment at all on the crappy singers. That seems to be what everyone wanted so how am I attacking anyone? I did exactly what the majority wanted me to do. They said not to post anything if you weren't going to be positive so I only comment on songs that I actually like. I came to this thread looking to help the original poster and all I got was Matt telling me that I didn't know what I was talking about. If anyone did any attacking here; it was Matt, not me. If he is so informed; he can help the original poster figure out how to add things to a CDG. I also have noticed that the person who asked the original question hasn't been back to check the thread. LOL If that person has been back, he or she hasn't left a comment as to what is going on.

Brucefan, you keep saying I said or inferred that you don't know what you're talking about. NOWHERE did I say that. What I said was to the effect that to insert pictures in the middle of the track, to alter the cdg of a mp3g file, you have to convert it to the karaoke builder program.

Yes you can put in an intro and an outtro, but the point I specifically talked about was the insertion of the picture in the middle of an existing track.

The tutorial and help files don't tell how to do that with an existing cdg track. It does say how you can put them in the front and back.

I still stand by my statement that you can't put it in the middle of an existing track. Maybe I'm wrong.

And nowhere did I attack you. You're the one bringing up my past in references. Especially about how I don't know anything and that someone has taught me everything I know. Nice. Sure is funny how I'm someone that doesn't know anything that someone hasn't taught me. I never said anything of the like with you... I don't know you, don't WANT to know you. You may be someone I knew from another site. Irregardless, I'm done with you and this topic.

Now go and XXXX yourself!

Tig has attested to the fact that I did exactly what I said I could do. I guess you decided to skip over that post, huh? Now that you've been proven wrong you want to slink back under some rock and wait for the next opportunity to add to your post total for no reason at all. As usual, the charter members of the FLUFF COMMITTEE always come to the defense of one of their own, whether they are in the right or in the wrong. So typical of you to run away and hide when you are proven to be mistaken.

First you called me a liar. Then you called me a troll and finally I get the XXXX from you; yet your buddies come here to defend YOU from my "attacks". LOL

And people wonder why I rarely post around here? There are threads on this site all about people not being able to give honest critiques without receiving the backlash from the FLUFF SOCIETY. If you give one person a negative review; the rest of the gang circle the wagons against you. People ask for honest critiques but they don't really want them. They just ask for them thinking that whatever FLUFF they receive after asking for honesty will have more validity. I ignore the fluffers and yet one of the leaders felt it was necessary to come here and talk about me leaving negative comments in the past. I haven't left a negative comment for anyone in close to 2 years. I listen to plenty of people's subs on this site. I leave comments on the good ones that I listen to and if I stumble onto a real cow pattie; I turn it off after about 5 seconds and move on to something else. People want to believe in some fantasy where they are better than the original artists on every song they sing. LOL More power to them. There are women who sound like men and men who sound like women and they all tell each other how fantastic they sound. It's always good for a laugh.

Dude you dont have a mortgage on honesty, you do however lack in the diplomacy stakes. Now be a good boy and take a cup of chammomile tea or a chill pill or whatever you need to do to calm down, because you are losing sight of your initial reason for attacking Matt, and that was to assist the person who started this thread.
So pull your head in and do so instead of baiting others with your errr "superiority"

Is this guy related to another poster who gets out of hand.
I don't recall the name and don't want to guess.
Their writing and posting sounds exactly the same.

Doing it (puting logo before the track) BFL's way is not the best way to get the job done, if the end result that you aimed for is some kind of advertisment or anouncement. You need to insert that same logo or what ever advert you what to put up, in a few 100s of your tracks.

There are some hosting programs that let you do those anouncement on the fly.

Let's do a quick recap of page one and two for the folks who are in denial and jumping on the bandwagon-

"First of all, what I said about banning was said with a tiny bit of sarcasm. Since you're new here, let me pull out the little steps for you short bus riders, and try to explain... "
yeah this isn't an insult...

"What I was irked about was you're posting in the "Technical Questions" area with "Do a little reading of the help files and you'll learn something" and full of attitude"
How many times has this poster said the exact same thing to new posters asking questions on this site???

"The option I think you're talking about is not in my version which is 1.12 or something like that."
Why would someone try to give advice on something that isn't even available in the version they are using???

"If you have some information other than your smart mouth, I'd be more than welcome to hear it. "
no this isn't an insult either...

"Maybe, just maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. "
winner winner chicken dinner...

"But the ones I comment on, I KNOW what I'm talking about."
biting my tongue til it bleeds...

"I've had friends and ex-friends comment that I tend to speak out too much on here, so maybe you're right about my "persona". I just know I've been on here a LOT longer than you and helped a LOT of people... "
what does length of time on here or how many people you have helped or how many posts someone has have to do with this???

"Yes my name is Matt, I never once have hidden this, unlike you."
There are a TON of posters on this site who have never, NEVER signed their posts with their real name or are they hiding it from you too??

"If you feel I'm wrong and you're right, PROVE it. This forum, and I'll say this again for the slow people... I'll even type it slower for ya Brucefan, is for sharing information."
yeah how could anyone take this as an insult...

"Even if you're 100% right, merely telling someone to read the help files doesn't answer the question. "
How many of these small personal applications that many of use have adequate help files???

"I give you the chance, dude. Prove it. I'm open-minded enough to learn new things... or are you going to sit here and just be a troll?"
definitely not an insult... nahhh...

"at any rate, the idea's been put forth from me to have this guy prove that he's no troll, and can backup what he has claimed."
please point out where it says ANYWHERE on this site that ANYONE has to prove ANYTHING to you... troll or otherwise...

"tell ya what Brucefan, I'll take your bet as long as you also include the instructions on how to do it."
why doesn't this surprise me?

"The file will have a picture before the Commercial LOGO. It will have a picture after the Commercial LOGO and it will have a picture at the end of the song."
I stated he did exactly that... or do I have to prove that I am not a troll or don't know what the hell I am talking about???

"You insult my intelligence and then you want ME to teach YOU how to do something???"
of course... that is how this forum works...

"BruceFan4Life's unwillingness to provide the instructions with his completed, modified CDG file casts a big shadow of doubt on his ability to achieve the task as he stated he could...me thinks he may have....well never mind."
Again, why does he have to provide people who are questioning his honesty with instructions?? the bandwagon is getting pretty full of... well never mind...

"It seems to me, that if you were at all interested in actually helping the original poster, you would explain exactly how to do what you did ( it seems that after hijacking this thread with your pi**ing match it's the least you could do) "
please state who and where this thread got hijacked... it is the splatter that matters...

"Brucefan, you keep saying I said or inferred that you don't know what you're talking about. NOWHERE did I say that." "Karaoke Builder Studio won't convert an existing CDG file into their format... you'd have to retype and sync the whole lyrics to do what you're talking about...
unless something's changed in the last upgrade!"
yeah this isn't saying he doesn't know what he is talking about... wait it gets better...

"the version I have WILL NOT let you do this. " well obviously your version is the ONLY version that anyone should be using and to be using a newer version with other capabilities outside of your knowledge is simply ludicrous...

" I mentioned that I can't do it with Karaoke Builder Studio. I have a very old version, one of the first ones ever put out there, and there IS no help file associated with that version."
again I ask why would you give advice on an old version, excuse me, a VERY old version(as you put it)? And why would you question a person's honesty and insult someone because they bring in new information based on the NEWER versions???

"I still stand by my statement that you can't put it in the middle of an existing track. Maybe I'm wrong. "
ummm I already stated he accomplished this or maybe I should type slower or pull out the steps on ths short yellow bus for ya too... or would that be insulting you?

"Now go and XXXX yourself!"
how respectful and what a shining example for this site tech staff... straight and to the point... I actually like it!

There are so many more but this is WAY to easy and it is starting to lose it's amusement factor for me. I expect the puppet moderators to come in and save the day, chastise or ban Bruce for the audacity of questioning a resident and locking the thread. oh the humanity... for the record- I do not know bruce, never talked to him, never saw his posting before all this and only recieved one private mail with the link to the file he modified and that is it! And for the conspiracy theorists, bruce is not me and I am not bruce or should I type THAT slower for ya'll. It is a shame that he is not posting the instructions on this so that you can go and take credit for it on other forums. He accomplished exactly what he stated he could do. Adding a new graphic and text before, after and at the end of the commercial graphics without affecting the sync of lyrics and music. Great tool for adding your company logo and text or the gig's name before a song. But who would want a new porsche when you got a classic horse and buggy...
Maybe I am just a troll too or a newbie... maybe... just maybe...

Thanks Jian- this is the best answer so far but did not address the original poster's question. let me recap for those avoiding the first page.

Original Poster Dixxxi said:
"is there a way to put something on your cdg files when you're displaying the track name of a song?
like adding an e-mail or logo? "

And the poster did not ask for the BEST way. they asked IS THERE A WAY... and BFL answered that.

Jian is right though- there are easier ways to do those things on the fly. Unless you want to basically watermark your personal digital library so DJ's can't rip your stuff to their drives or maybe you are doing a promotion like "sing the mystery song" and you can embed winner graphics into your mystery song itself so the singer and audience all see the announcement "on the fly" or maybe... use your imagination...

Thanks for the concise recap, Tig. The only problem is that some people only read what they want to read and only see what they want to see. They also only hear what they want to hear. I tried to offer som help and got ganged up on becausre-e someone thought they knew better than I did. What is wrong with telling someone to read a help file? How do you think I figured out how to do it? I READ THE HELP FILES WHILE RIDING MY SHORT BUS. I wouldn't stoop to thinking that I was smarter than anyone else here so I thought that anyone reading the help files would be able to figure out what I figured out. Heck! I couldn't even figure out how to post on this forum for years. Every time I tried to offer advice; I got a message telling me that I needed permission to post. After a recent upgrade to the site, I was directed to a newbie section and I've been able to post here since then. I don't know how often I'll try to offer advice in the future after the warm and fuzzy response I got this time. I do most of my posting on SS because that is the only place my posts worked. I post my song recordings there and I get a few people to comment on them and I'm happy with that. I don't get comments from the FLUFF COMMITTEE and I DON'T want or need them. They are meaningless to me. I'd rather have 5 HONEST comments than 30 comments that are just re-payments for me handing out FLUFF on other people's songs. Some people post songs that restrict people from even leaving a comment. I figure that the reason they do it is because they would get so many FLUFFY commnets and they don't even want to respond to them any more. It seems like they're saying that they want you to listen to them but the can't be bothered responding to their FLUFFERS comments. I'm so glad that I never went down that road. Since I'm only a free member, many of my songs are removed after a short time so I can post a new song. This is the main reason why sometimes I don't respond to some of the comments that are left for me. I do apreciate them all but what is the point of leaving a comment on a song if I will be deleteing it in a day or two? How do I know if the person even would come back to read my response to their comment? I've left comments in the past on people's songs and didn't receive a response and I never gave it a second thought. I'm sure that they had a good reason or just didn't have the time. NO BIG DEAL TO ME but it seems to be considered a MORTAL SIN to some people. When I go to karaoke I don't see anyone go around and say thank you to every single person who clapped for their performance. I don't come here for my daily self esteem boost. I already have plenty of it and I don't need people to FLUFF me to convince me that I'm a good singer. I'm far from being the best singer in the world and that is one of the reasons why I like karaoke. You don't have to be the best to enjoy it and you don't need to be told that you're the best to enjoy it. There are plenty of lousy singers out there that will be the first person to tell you that they are lousy singers but they love their time on stage. They don't want to be lied to. That is just patronizing and insulting to their intelligence. They know the truth and they know that you are just lying to them

brooosey what you dont realise is that your vitriolic opinions about other folks and the way they sing on SS got sent to me via someone you were enamoured of at the time. She being new, had no idea how to take you and your nastiness.

Your opinions on some are quite unfounded, unjustified and unhinged

now go lift your leg on a telephone pole or lick your nether regions in the middle of the road, and who knows we might all get lucky and have you picked up as a stray

Apparently , you are allowed to have your opinions and post them for all to see but I am NOT..... And I thought this was an OPEN forum? I didn't realize that you were the school principal that everyone runs to for help. I haven't left a single negative comment on anyone's songs in over a year at least but you can't let it go like some rabid dog. Speaking of dogs and peeing on telephone poles, how is your dog doing? I hope he's fine and still able to lick his nether regions. Woof Woof !

It amazes me how the Fluff Brigade or friends of the moderators are allowed carte blanche on posting their opinions and observations on other people and not a word is said. I guess the answer is to get drunk and you can say ANYTHING you want... I suggest everyone go back to lurking and let the same 6 people tell members and visitors how to do everything, otherwise you will find yourself in the crosshairs of the Fluff Brigade, the KIA's (know-it-alls) and the KA's (kiss donkey's)...

The last thing I would ever want to do is comment on some bickering thats going on on these forums. However, that comment about Vicki's dog is below ugly. Of course she just posted about losing her dog, and how upsetting it was. Ever have a dog thats been part of the family for 12-15 years, and then that dreadful day comes?
I am not taking sides, but the ugliness taking place now is way beyond anything reasonable. Ron, 301-502-0087

I don't read any of Vicky's posts except the ones in this thread. I didn't even know her name was Vicky for that matter. She compared me to a dog peeing on a telephone pole. I just continued in the same vein. People shouldn't attack others if they can't handle the response.

As for you not taking sides.......Pu....lease!!!! It's pretty obvious whose side you're on Ron.
