If that poor newbie who started a flame war, quite without meaning to, over adding something to a CDG file is still interested, I have got the words "Perry Was Here" in big ugly black letters stuck in the CDG file of Sunrise/Sunset. That's not something that anyone would want to do but it could say anything else or be a picture and it could be just about anywhere in any CDG file.

Sorry your thread got locked and pirated and... oh heck it was fun.

Hopefully bruce will correspond with you... I found what he did to the customized CDG file to be pretty cool and have a number of possible uses.

on a personal note, I would like to thank Jian for locking that thread and proving my point better than I could ever communicate. I could barely see the strings from where I was standing. Kudos to a job well done

According to my help file, it's impossible to do what you are claiming to be able to do weedfarmer. You must Prove it and leave instructions on how you accomplished this miracle. LOL with tongue firmly planted in cheek. Is a cheek considered a nether region?

well first you will need to upgrade from win95 to win98... this will enable you to find your nether region where that information is stored... rinse and repeat as necessary... if you get picked up as a stray for lifting your leg on an unsuspecting pole then just deny everything and hope that nobody actually read what you typed... if that doesn't work then have a puppet moderator shake his finger at you and then lock the thread... if all else fails then please go XXXX yourself... leave a tip...

Okay, this is how I did it. I opened the cdg file and read it into a 24 byte buffer and then looked for packets with a valid command structure, leaving them alone of course I converted the timing packets into valid command packets using only the 6 instruction at this point because this was after all a fairly simple app. Then I broke a two color bitmap into 6X12 pixel blocks thus giving me the design pattern to incorporate into the CDG and then.... Well, you get the idea. So how did you do it? What's the big secret?

Well, I just followed the instructions in the help files. It was just like building a model airplane.
