I like these. A bit more than the MTXs but I think better quality and if you decide to do gigs, they are great monitors plus they are American made.

I am sure they are better, but I think they want 300 watts. (Correct me if I am wrong.) The nice thing about the TP112 is that they only take 125W, and sound good -- and loud -- at that power level.
The TP112 and the Sonics are the same power wise (150 watt, 300 peak) but the Sonics also weigh 37 pounds whereas the MTXs are 44 lbs. My Sonics are run sometimes with my back up fender amp that does 150 watts and sounds great.
That is really good to know. I don't know that I will ever replace my TP112s, but if I did it is nice to know where to go. Plus they are stand-mountable -- one of the biggest problems with the TP112 is that they have no recessed pole mount. (There is a bolt-on one.)
A feature that the TP112 has is nice, though -- they have binding posts on the back. Home stereo wires go in easily. It isn't that big a deal to solder up a 1/4" socket, but not everyone will do that as easy as us. Do the Sonics have that feature? Didn't see a back panel picture or a manual anywhere.
