I for one like the sound from MTU.

I just don't like their proprietary way of dealing with MY music. Wanting to convert what I've ALREADY converted.

You prefer wma over mp3  Yes, if compressed at less than 96k but the lame encoder is by far superior  Also, Hoster has a poor sound compare with any software available, even when a file is played in wave! In fact, I don't recommend using any MTU software for backing up a cdg or any disk, you'll get a clean graphic but it will affect the sound quality  The problem goes back many years... Reason? I believe it's their poor sound engine
I'm not going to beat this horse for sure but I'll say come to my show and hear the sound. Could be my incredibly talented skills at mixing (WINK WINK) but we have the BEST sound I've heard in over 20 years of being involved in karaoke. Can't speak for Lonman but I'd say if possible his sound is better than mine, based on his depth of knowledge of equipment and mixing. I love singing on our system and have a hard time finding a place to sing that has comparable sound. The majority of our music is from the top manus and the clarity is truly amazing. And this is not bias speaking, either - I can't tell you how many people singing with us for the first time rave about the sound. I wonder on what basis this sound criticism is made - how about you, Lonnie?
Karen,

I'm not saying you can't make it sound good on a live setup and I believe you when you say it sounds great at your place :D All I'm saying is that for some reason, when you backup a disk using Micro or import using Hoster or Micro, it impacts the overal sound quality compared with the original, that's all

Now, I have nothing against MTU, in fact, I think these people care about their customers and have decent products to offer for this nice karaoke world :D You see, most people can't hear the "quivering" or this strange "rubber" sound in keyrite, fine with me if most people can't hear it, but that strange sound drives me crazy

Bottom line is to demo & decide for yourself. You wil NEVER get a complete majority agreement on the best software. What works for 1 isn't enough for another. What this person needs might be completely different than anothers needs.

Test them all and figure what meets your needs. Don't just go on the words of people trying to push their agenda. I use to push RoxBox until I had problems with winamp. I went back for home recording to Roxbox to have it stop saving the recording after I tried to move where it saved to in the .ini file. Apparently you can't do that anymore. I now use COmpuHost for both my shows and my home recordings. But that does not mean it will fit what you might want. Test them all.

Wow, not trying to push my agenda. I merely posted what I liked about MTU's Hoster. I don't care who uses it, frankly, and wouldn't care if nobody else did use it. I like it, it works great for me. I can play singers' CDGs when they bring them in, I now have the ability to store singers' song choices and access their faves and put them in the rotation. The songbook function is great. Just a few things I like about it. Not pushing my agenda. Geesh. (I have other agendas I'd spend time on before I'd spend time on this dead horse...)

karaoke-singles doesn't look legal to me. If it is UK based it should have MCPC-PRS licensing. The web site screams fake. (I could be wrong, says he in CYA style!)

I still don't think sound choice has legal MP3+G downloads, although it does have many without the +G!
