PLEASE HELP !

Hello everyone I feel a little stupid because I have been doing karaoke and Djing since 89 (BACK IN THE PIONEER LASER DISC DAYS) and I have just come across my first real problem I just cant seem to figure out ! I'll be as specific as I can with the questions so please be specific with your helpful answers and THANKS in advance for your time !

I have a partial Karaoke library (Probably stuff I just have not fiexd in years) of Some zipped and un zipped karaoke files that are labled wrong or I just want to change the naming convention !

I use PCDJ VJ !
I Use DR.TAGS !
I Am Familiar With MP3+G TOOLZ !

I Am Trying to Rename the files from DISK ID# - ARTIST - TITLE to
ARTIST - TITLE - DISK ID# or ALBUM

Renaming them with Dr.Tags isnt the problem its when I ZIP or REZIP them then try to view them in the PCDJ VJ program because they show up as
ARTIST - TITLE-DISK ID#
in othe words the DISK ID# or ALBUM Doesnt go into the correct ALBUM field !

AGAIN THANKS FOR ANY HELPFUL ANSWERS !

Are you're using Dr. Tags or Dr.Tag software?

Your problem could be that Dr. Tag renames the tags inside the file while most hosting software works with the name of the file. I suggest that you unzip all the files, change their names as desired, and when you start to rezip them; don't. A long time ago Chicken Little got it into her head that if she didn't zip her karaoke files the sky would fall and she told Henny Penny who told Chicken Licken....

Thanks For That !
Love the Name ! Explains alot !

Ive used almost all the mp3 file naming programs out there and im almost certian its not DR.TAGS but I think its with all the ZIP programs and Ive tried a bunch !
I think they will just not zip it ARTIST - TITLE - DISC like I want them and It could be the naming recognition inside my PCDJ VJ program !

IS THERE A ZIP NAMING PROGRAM THAT ALOWS YOU TO CHOOsE THE NAMING CONVENTION/ORDER ? AGAIN ! ARTIST - TITLE - DISC ID/ALBUM ?

AND THANKS for the enjoyable story LOL !

weed HATES the .zip format. Always has, always will.

There ARE good .zip players, however, so don't take one person's humorous story as gospel.

I like .zip files for transferring from hard drive to hard drive. BUT I do agree that for playing purposes, I PERSONALLY don't need them to remain .zipped.

There are 2 programs that can change the naming convention easily. 1) Latshaw KJ File Manager and, 2) CDGFix. There is also another way if you own Karaoke Song List Creator or KJPro...just use CDG Autoname and completely rename them all. It really doesn't take that long to use CDG Autoname and rename them from scratch as long as you have a complete disc ID and accurate track info.
