Hi newbie here would welcome any suggestions.

I have a tried downloading karaoke tracks online and when I create my disc I only get audio out.

My downloads come as MP3+G files, I then burn onto CD-R I've tried both Power CDGburner and Microstudio everything appears to go smoothly. I then put it into the karaoke machine (Ultimate pro karaoke KDX2000) and all I get is the audio out.

Any tips most welcome
Al

Ally,

are you unziping the files? How are you making your karaoke discs?

Usually, you have to turn the mp3+g files to .bin to make them playable on a karaoke cd+g player. BUT I'll admit, I don't know how many other burner software works... that's the way I make them, so that's the only advice I can offer.

you can PM powerkaraoke... he posts on here frequently, and may be able to help you with your direct questions.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I'd unzipped the file and converted the file to .bin out of CDG burner onto the CD but doesn't appear to work I've also tried outputting as a .wav file with similar result.
Cheers

You can't just convert and burn with any old program (like the stupid Nero and Roxio included interminably and indelibly with any PC). You have to use a karaoke-aware burn program that will encode the lyrics onto the subcode channel for display.

Microstudio or PowerKaraoke should do that. No need to convert -- just point them at the mp3/cdg files and they should do the rest.

I do indeed convert to .bin files myself, but only when I want to burn a key change onto the track. But I burn with Power CDG burner.

Just to go with the KISS principle, are you sure your CD+G player is fully MPG compatible? Not all are, and some that say they are will ONLY produce audio- no graphics.

I'll check with the manufacturer. It says it should play these but I appear to be doing everything else as per suggestions. The box states it should play these but who knows.

Many thanks for the suggestions.

If it isn't working with these programs, it sounds to me like the cd/dvd isn't compatible for the graphics part. Both these programs work with more drives than other software, but not all.

I think we are talking about .bin files here, not mp3+g. That is what is produced by burning on PowerCDG Burner and Microstudio. Those should play regardless if it is billed as a karaoke player.

I am geting a .bin file otputed from the mp3+g files through the converters/burners so this should work regardlesss of player compatibility. Could it be a CD-R playbeck issue..... but then I get the audio ok. I get the feeling I'm missing something.

You are certainly missing telling us exactly how you are burning this file to disk....have you tried burning on PowerCDG burner directly from mp3+g format?

Hi I've tried burning direct out of CDG burner and also converting to binary first and then burning.

So i select the cdg file I want first (which i believe picks up the mp3 as well as it has the same name with the mp3 extension) from addfiles then I select the destination fromat as .bin. then convert, then burn the converted file. I've also tried burning direct after selecting the cdg file form add files.

Finally got this to work. So many thanks for all your input and support in helping to get to this point.

Solved by trying on different drives AND changing the settings on Power CDG burner to CDRAO and ticking the MMC-Raw driver and the raw sub channel mode.
Works, brilliant
Cheers
