Aww:) Thanks, you:) Well... the season has my hubby working silly 12hr guard duty shifts on base... and he VOLUNTEERED! Lol, so, I won't really get to see him much this holiday season:) He works from 5:30pm-5:30 am, and then sleeps til around 2:30, and has to be there for 5pm... so, yeah.... sucky xmas:)
Have a great Christmas, and thanks for the hello:)
(Ps, everyone else.... , don't wanna get into a pissing match about how cold it is ANYWHERE... I'm just pissy because I want a smoke, and I CAN'T... plus, I didn't ASK to move to snowmanland......I was forced. Totally not fair;)

Geez, Gilly, that's not "snowfall", that's more like living in the middle of an iceberg. Yikes, I wouldn't like that either.
Snow is fun, it's even fun seeing how squirrely you can get turning corners while driving into town and back... but I couldn't handle it over, maybe... 2 weeks. And by February I'll be screaming for the sunshine to come back. (which, wont come until about May or so in Oregon... just tons more rain) Atleast in the snow you have nice scenery rather than just mud. (tho, mud can be fun too)
Your pic totally makes my snow look inadequate. (like... dandruff in the yard or something, Lol)
Congrats on the wedding, that's awesome. Any pics?

Lol, that was 3 years ago, in Ontario... and it wasn't even full blown winter. Sick... Actually, apparently, we aren't supposed to get much snow here at all... it's just too cold for it.... BUT, everyone is exclaiming "surprise" about all of the snow we have already. Bull crap. EVERYWHERE we live people make up stuff about the weather:) Things like "Oh, this is the LEAST amount of snow we've ever had here" (And the snow is already taller than me)... people are full-o-crap:)
I hear you on winter driving... my man thinks that SNOW means he can negotiate turns with his emergency brake, INSTEAD of the steering wheel. Lotsa fun:( I can't believe he is outSIDE patrolling RIGHT Now, at the guard shack, when it is -35°C.... The hood on his military parka is this funny Kenny from southpark shape... and he gets ice crystals hanging from it, from his breath. I need to make him take a pic:) He is writing me emails... he, and the chick he is working this shift with, are boiling cups of water, and throwing it outside to make insta-snow:) How bored can you be?
And... yeah, technically we have pics of the "wedding".... but, we didn't REALLY get "married"..... we had the marriage commissioner come to our house and legally marry us.... nothing special... just us, Sky, and his parents were our witnesses. That's it:) So... no, no INTERESTING pics:) Just... the girl who said she would NEVER get married, is now.... married:)
So, can you make snow angels or... like, snowmen, yet?

Yeah, my husband is the same way... he wants to take my Bronco to the store, and all I need do is listen at the front door to hear him spinning around once he (thinks he) is out of sight. And then, go figure, gets mad at ME if I don't "behave" while driving in the snow.
You're people are probably not as bad as my people... you really would laugh at our newscasts... they're pretty excited to have such a big winter report so early in our winter season. This snow is like candy to the weathermen. But, really, lots of people are without power and there are tons of downed trees and lots of accidents (i'm an insurance agent, work has sure been fun the last week, Lol)... we're just not used to this much snow and ice for this long of a time. The ice is pretty bad.
Speaking of.... If I tried to make a snow angel, I'd would be a crunchy one. There was about an inch & 1/2- 2 inches of an ice shell over top the snow this morning. So you'd take a step and it sounded like a shotgun... and your footprint would be about a 12 inch circle from the ice cracking around it. My hair and clothes would most likely stick to the ice and I wouldn't be able to get up. Lmao, doesn't that paint a pretty picture? But okay, I'll try tomorrow. (haven't done snow angels since I was probably 8 or so... okay, so maybe 25... but I'll try)

Gotta admit though, that IS pretty funny.
Ah, I'd still like to see the pics. I do recall you talking about how you'd "never get married".... but if something changed your mind and that's what you wanted, then that's awesome:)
(i had a very small, country-ish, wedding myself... small country church with just the church members and some friends & family... but it was mine... I could never have been one of those freaks who have to have acres of Guipure lace on her gown and a 12 tier cake... that's not what matters anyhow, imo)

Welcome back Gilly. It's been a while. It's about time you and your little girl take a trip out here to California. It's cold here, about 55 degrees during the day and about 35-40 during the night. It's still a good day, except for today it rained. Usually, we just get sunshine here, perfect time to catch up on your tan.
Good to see you back.

My hubby came home in the WORST mood at 6:30 this morning..... The temperature had dropped to -50 with the windchill..... and when he unrolled his extension cord (for the block heater).... it "shattered"... cracked. Crazy... he was grumbling and ticked off.... thoroughly unimpressed. Then, he had major problems getting the truck started, and didn't get home as soon as he wanted.... I think I might just tiptoe around him today;) I don't know if I can EXPLAIN how cold -50 is... but, if you want to adopt me.... I'll move;) Wow, I had no idea that people were without power and all... I guess because we can severe freezing rain and snow and crazy temps all the time, and never (ok, RARELY) have problems like that. Why IS that?!
I wanna make crunchy snowmen with you!:)
Eben----- 55 F during the day? That's like our summer here! And... I'm not joking:) I'm moving out THERE:)
Actually, we are planning a trip to California, to visit my hubby's family... probably next year.... however, it is SOOOO hard to work leave around his schedule. We were going to be out there for xmas this year... but, he ended up working.
Thanks for the hey, you!:)

I mean, you have quadruple the snow we do.. ALL year long.. and I'm sure you're not without electric/phone/cable all the time and have downed trees all over. I guess maybe because the types of trees we have aren't the type that can withstand freezing temps for long, so they break rather than bend? (hence most of the powerlines that get downed) Then you get your retards that think 4x4 means "no driving adjustments required, i'm good to go on the icy roads" (hence the rest of the powerlines getting knocked down) Yeah, that must be it. Quote: I wanna make crunchy snowmen with you!:)
Now why did that sound like a come-on? Lmao... the cold temps must be getting to me. I'm gonna brave the cold as soon as my grandkids' mamma gets home to watch them, and I'm gonna go try the *snow angel* thing .... I'll let ya know how it goes. (if you hear from Don that I'm hospitalized with multiple head wounds and arm and leg lacerations, that means there were still large chunks of ice under the new snowfall) But I got off work a couple hours early today, so I'm gonna go out and have a bit of fun before it gets dark here.

Hi Gilly! Hi everyone! I have been missing for a few weeks myself. I dont know what I would do if I had to live is such cold weather! It has been consistently in the 60's or 70's here all winter during the day and down around 35 to 36 at night. One night it dropped to 25 and we thought we were going to freeze to death! We have not even seen a snow flake. We usually do get one snow each winter and it is usually in January. It will usually snow about a half inch and by afternoon, the snow has melted away. The only problem is once night comes, you have to be careful of ice on the roads until the next day when everything will melt and dry up. I keep thinking we are due to get something around here soon! --Mike
