I would say that one of the most important things is give yourself PLENTY of setup time, the more, the better. From my experience, you're going to be nervous UNTIL you have everything up and working. Once it's all together, and you test it, you'll feel ALOT more comfortable. If you are given time to set up earlier, TAKE IT. Then you'll have some time to socialize with the crowd (while having filler playing in the background), until it's time to start. You still may have a few "butterflies", but once you get started, you'll get over it. Good Luck, and Congratulations.

Funny we are the same way, nercous until the testing then we sit back & relax until the start time For good reason though one night we had a b-day party & this was before we got our pro amp we had an akj7000 ( i think thats what is was it might have been akg7000?) Anyways it kept clipping every time wed put a song on past a certain volume it was so embarassing we had to drive all the way home to get the pro amp from my personal set up to use & we ended up giving them a free hour because of that ..so now we set up in plenty of time in case we have to go back home to get spare parts or whtever..thankfully nithing has happened like that again unless ya count forgetting to bring a certain wire for connectiong the tv to the pc..LOL usually things work out & if /when it doesnt is when ya start discounting your services ..THANKFULLY it hasnt ever happened at a wedding...I would soo hate to ruin someones special day like that !
