Hi everyone.
Many thanks for allowing me to join your forum.
As a short intro., in addition to the one I posted in the Newbie area, I'm the wrong side of 50 (you choose which side that is
) love to sing on Karaoke and have a computer based system.
My question isn't primarily for my benefit but for a young couple who have just started their own system up and have a Friday and Saturday night gig in a pub I frequent when I'm not working myself.
Sadly, they were persuaded to get an RSQ Neo+G player that was claimed to be all singing and dancing but has proven not to be so.
Their main issue is that they have a good collection of standard CDG discs and they were assured it was reasonably easy to rip and convert them to Neo+G format, to save them carrying lots of discs around.
As one of my listed interests is computers, I offered to look into it for them and found that RSQ have a utility on their website to do exactly the job, required.
I downloaded it and tried it out but am having a ridiculous time with it and hope one or more of the board users can help me understand what I'm doing wrong.
As some of you are probably aware, the program is called RMC and appears to be a simple grid type entry system and DVD convertor utility.
However, as I'm sure you'll appreciate, typing in 500 titles, 500 singers names, 500 CDG file location and 500 MP3 locations is not something to be entertained lightly and I was pleased to see they had a facility to IMPORT the details from a comma deliminated (.CSV) file.
After all this waffle, I finally get to the nub of the problem.
If I manually enter details and fire up the DVD generating engine, all is O.K., I get 4 .DAT files and 1 .IFO file. This, I assume is what should happen.
However, if I import a list and everything showing O.K. on the program screen, when I now ask the program to generate a DVD build, I get an immediate error message about a .C3G fault but the DVD seems to compile O.K.
EXCEPT, the .IFO file is missing!!!
When I tried the DVD in their Neo+G player (an HK-2000U BTW), it shows 4 folders but they can't be entered.
O.K. after all that, does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong????
Apart from trying to work with Neo+G, of course
I look forward to any insight you guys (and Gals), might have.
TIA,
Sandy
