Can anybody help with this problem? I have ripped all my original Sunfly discs to my hard drive. These played perfectly well using Windows Media Player and the Karaoke for directX plug-in. But since upgrading my PC’s Operating System I now get the message ‘Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item’

Welcome to the wonderful world of DRM. That's why I always rip MP3 as opposed to WMV. Do you have a saved license file? If so, you can renew the authorization by accessing the file and following the instructions.

If you read that, and just said, "What's a back up license file?" You're gonna have to reload all your music if you want to continue using windows media player. Or, you could just download the Karafun player for free, and skip the headache all together.

anytime you upgrade an os, you have to update the drivers as well. Sometimes they work for you...

My wife went through fits when she upgraded to XP years ago.
