Well, I just got the new karaoke CD "Fearless" from Walmart. Only $13 + Tax, so from the onset, I'm happy with the price. :D

Now I haven't listened to every track, but the ones I have listened to sounded great, and since these are the original backing tracks from the album that was to be expected.

I really like the way Big Machine has laid out the CDG lyrics, with count down dots between instrumentals, and timing the screen change of versus so that you don't miss time with the music waiting for the new lyrics to pop up. Very nice.

Overall, for Taylor Swift fans this is a great buy, and a must own for those that are also karaoke enthusiasts.

Big Machine is on to something here, and I hope the sales of this disc are good enough so that others follow suit.

Seems to make sense to me. You get to sell the same thing twice to the same person, or sell something to people who wouldn't normally buy you merchandise. I know I don't buy Taylor Swift albums (just downloaded the TS tracks I like), so BM got money from me they normally wouldn't have.

Who else has got this?

Got both albums, 'Taylor Swift' and 'Fearless'. The great thing is I split the discs so one rig has the CDG, the other has the DVD. People love having the videos on screen from the DVD ones. This being Texas they have been used quite a lot (easily a couple of times a week) and definitely made their money's worth! To think I paid $18 odd from amazon for these the day they came out!

This is the way karaoke should be... Garth Brooks, The Eagles, Sugarland (or lawyers) take note!

It just makes sense, doesn't it. I would NEVER buy anything put out by Taylor Swift as far as just to listen to; but I did buy the CDG for my singers, so yes, she does get some money that she would normally not have gotten.

In reality the best thing artists could do is consider this an option - put out their tracks as CDGs without the lead vocals. Sure, the manus who have been getting licenses to do this will miss out but apparently they're feeling snubbed anyway and really not doing much to stop what's going on (re: illegally obtained tracks).

It is the artists, I believe, that should get the bulk of the money generated from their talent and as it stands now, this isn't the case. If they would just consider this as an option, it would only require simple software and someone familiar with the tracks to add the lyrics. Bypass all the paranoid manufacturers altogether. It would be their own fault, really, for not staying up on the times and coming up with solutions to downloads, etc.

FYI: On the Taylor Swift DVD they actually had 3 audio channels, One karaoke with backing singers, one karaoke with no backing singers and one full vocal (had to rip the DVD to get them though). The Fearless disc remedied this :-( also the Fearless disc had less videos since it came out closer to the original album.

I've had Fearless since early May. The high schoolers loved it!

Wow, that DVD is also VERY cool! I'm soooo glad I have the regular karaoke player too, because I had one of my singers do the "Love Story" song, and the music video plays behind the lyrics. She was really good, and its interesting to see the singer, with the video playing in the background her lips syncing up with my karaoke singer!

Very cool, and a big hit at the bar. Everybody was talking on about it. Are there any other karaoke DVDs like this???

Only other DVD I have like this is a Queen Karaoke DVD. 36 tracks all with video and Pioneer style lyrics in 2 lines at the bottom of the screen. Freddie vocals removed when they were on a separate master track but included when everyone else joins in. This disc cost me $65 back in 2005 but I'd say worth every penny... doesn't get played much here in TX but in CA it was used a few times. Again the full vocals are included on the 2nd audio channel.

I got both of them the week they came out. Hate to admit it, but at least one of her songs gets done most every show. Songs from both of them. You know, I haven't even looked at the DVD's that came with it. Guess I should check them out since I paid for them.

Well I just purchased the fearless cd. My only question is how do you rip it to the cpu...I've tried it and it ripped the music with the actual vocals on it in a karaoke format but there was no instrumental tracks or lyrics on the cdg file? I'm missing something very simple here. Got to go back and check it out. Thanks, MrD

Ah, ha...it comes with a dvd too, that has the karaoke. The cd I picked up only has the cd, no dvd with it. MrD

Or what I'm gathering is that you can buy the karaoke version of the cd and that also comes with the dvd and it has both the karaoke version and the orginal versions of the songs on it...you can also just buy the enhanced music cd and that's what I have???

Yes, the Karaoke version of the disc, comes with two discs. It has a CD+G disc, regular karaoke. You should certainly be able to rip this disc It also has a DVD version of the music. The fearless DVD is also karaoke, and only has 2 MTV type videos that match the song, the rest of the songs have a nice pic of her in the background.

Her first albulm "Taylor Swift" is set up the same way. The DVD has about 5 MTV type videos with the song and graphics, and the rest of the songs have a cheesy plain background on the rest of the songs.
