Brooks and Dunn one of hottest country duo's have called it quits after 20 years together. They said it was just time to hang it up and no other reason.

Although they are planning a farewell tour for next year.

Yea that sucks. Ronnie only sang about 4 song during their career. Maybe that had a little something to do with it.

They created a lot of good music, were a dynamic performing team, and brought enjoyment to their fans...and that's the Honky Tonk Truth.

Ronnie Dunn may be running out of the gas necessary to sing his own song creations. He has cancelled a lot of concerts because of voice problems. I can see why -- if you performed "Neon Moon", "Brand New Man", and "Boot Scootin' Boogie" all in a row you'd develop voice problems too. His songs are *hard*.

They are probably smart to walk away at the top - how many years in a row did they win awards for top performing duo/group? I can't imagine singing those same songs time after time and continuing to make it look 'fresh.' Like any iconic group, they can afford to retire and dabble in music in another capacity as I'm sure they will. As I recall, they were independent artists who were put together by a studio, weren't they? There'll be more like them.

I'm sure this will be the first of many farewell tours, each more expensive than the last

Let alone singin' My Maria. Add that to the fold. I caught a show in Chicago years ago. The voices were a bit tour weary, but they had fun and put on a show with alot of energy. It was a good night.
