I read about this on another forum. It seems pretty easy, has tempo, pitch, cdg synch, etc. Any opinions? Thanks

Since you asked a direct question (hopefully the NAY SAYERS won't chime in ) LOL

I use the KJ Pro by PCDJ which is KARMA by Latshaw

I have to say I love this program for hosting karaoke. Has everything you need as you mentioned and is a very sturdy program without any hiccups. Key Changes / Rotation Mgt / SInger History / PLays various types of files and even regular filler music / Can fade in and out etc.

One of the best functions is the SEARCH --you just start typing and it will search all fields for the criteria. All in all I would give it a thumbs up

If you're looking for prgrams that will scroll fancy ads or play quircky sounds or one that can rip cdgs and give you a song book. THIS IS NOT THE PROGRAM

But a full funtioning Karaoke Hosting Progam it is . As good as it gets

I was really impressed with the layout of the book. It lists song, artist, & all versions on one line. No 10-12 digit #'s taking up space, no dupes, per se, but I'll know which version is best if they don't have a clue.

So what would I need to rip my cdgs and do I really need the KJ File Manager to make my books?

Thanks.

Actually it is their program "Song List Generator" that make song books. (I own, use and love this program)

Also by the same company "KJ Filemanager" as you mentioned above, is an excellent file manager/renaming program for both karaoke and mp3 files. (I own, use (not so much anymore-but a lot in the past) and love this program also)

While I don't own or use Karma, I have tested the demo and was very impressed...just as jamkaraoke described.

I use the PCDJ version of it "KJ Pro"...

I do like the layout and how this program works, but I have ran into some issues with it locking up on me from time to time. I will say when it locks up, it is much more graceful than I would expect and at least when I re-open the application it still has all my singers and their songs intact... I have had some nights that it's happened 2 or 3 times and at other times can go weeks without it happening... But it never fails to happen if I have a bar manager up to sing just so I look like an (@$%&#!)

Seriously, for $100 it's hard to beat. I plan on upgrading to something with a little more capability (and more expensive  ) like Virtual DJ soon. This is more because I want one program that I can use for DJ, karaoke, and video...

I think an occasional LOCK UP happens on almost any program. I've had it happen using KJPRO but very rarely. I attribute it to a bad song file or pc problem.

This is always as soon as I try to start a song so I would guess it's a problem with the file or software. The part that baffles me is that I can kill the program, fire it back up, and play the same file that it just locked up on... It's a frustrating thing from time to time.... I love the interface, it just seems buggy...
