With the passing of Patrick Swayze, a song has bumped back into my mind that I really like--Cry to Me, by Solomon Burke. Actually, I first heard this song on a vinyl record by Professor Longhair--a New Orleans blues-funk pianist, on his Crawfish Fiesta recording. I'm not sure I've seen the song in a karaoke book, though I don't always look for it either--but if I see it again, I think I'll try and sing it!

So here is the poll question: does your karaoke book have this song in it?

I do have it!

I love the "do you have question? " (out of the mouth of someone who is sober and polite) becasue it gives you a wonderful insight into someone elses world.

Sadly I only have it in Set 2 . . not my main one. . . but if you ever move to my area, shout and I'll make sure I have at both shows.

I didn't include that, because I new that The Apathetic KJ exist only in legend, and not in reality. lol

the outcome of the poll (thanks for voting!) is kind of what I suspected. I haven't seen this song in a book for awhile, and now am wishing I had tried singing it...but I'm sure our paths will cross again

To paraphrase a Led Zeplin song

And if I ever find that song I know one thing for sure
I'm gonna sing it something like I never had before

I have the song on a Chartbuster disc. I sing it too!! I love it! I get a great crowd response from it. It's on a Chartbuster 6-disk set of soul music. I also have the Freddie Scott one, and I'm not sure if it's the same song.

I did check on it for you, and right now, expresskaraoke.com has the Sunfly one for $5.00. The Chartbuster Essentials Pack that it's on is on sale for 59.99. The Sunfly one is great deal! Jump on it.

Great song - Dirty Dancing must be one of the most singable film soundtracks ever...

I only have the Freddie Scott cover of the song, not the original.
