Ok next question.

Your CD player has died, and you have gone 50-100 shows without a request to run a customer CD. You run most of your shows off of a hard drive. And your software does not allow you to easily run a cd of your computer directly.

Would you buy a replacement?

Yes pesonally I would (although I have 6 players at home as well). I like providing that option as available.
Had 10 customer discs last night btw.

I have one show that I regularly play customers discs. Had this show only about 9 months or so. On average I play about 10 discs from customers, (usually hispanic stuff, which i have no idea about). Another show that I have done for almost 5 years now, I have never even been asked if I can play discs. So would I ever stop bringing my players, probably not. Ya just never know. Besides like Lonnie said, if it's part of your rack, why would it even make a difference.

I've always had people wanting me to play their discs, so it's tough to imagine not playing them. I'm going to say, yes I'd still buy another player. I'd take my time though and find another vintage player on ebay for a good price.

Yup, I'm going to have the ability to play discs. The software isn't an issue, as most players now carry enough onboard effects to be helpful. An A/B switch....
