I use to charge $175.00 per night. Last year I landed a gig Fri and Sat for $150.00 for ea. night. The kick is they use me soley for all their private parties, fund raisers and car shows on the other nights to. Just a suggestion when you trying to land a gig , what you offer other than karaoke.

While I might charge by the hour ( with a minimum) for private events, I charge only BY THE NIGHT for bars.
It has been my experience that bar owners will take any opportunity to use an hourly rate as an excuse to save money by coming up with reasons to shut down early or start late. I advise that- whatever your rate- it should be a fee for the night, whatever the length. When figuring, add extra for the possibility of a long night.
