Thanks Lonman. I downloaded the demo for MTU Hoster to try it out. Is there some trick to get it to play directly from the CD+G? I keep getting the error message "The track number you entered was not found on the disc. Enter a valid track number and try again." I made sure to type in the singer's name, correct track number, and song titile.

Not that I know of, I just hit the number of the song, name & title & it imports temporarily to the playlist. It deletes after it plays.

That's what I figured it should do. maybe the demo doesn't have that ability? That would kinda stink, since that's one of the selling points for me.

It probably has a limitation on what number tracks it will work on. I know PowerKaraoke's won't go past track 3.

Did you check to make sure the drive can read CD+G disks?
You can download Nero's info tool and use it to make sure the drive can actually read CD+G. Some drives don't have that capability.
Here's the link to download:

I know my desktop won't play the graphics part of CD+G's. However, I thought it would at least recognize and play the sound track part of it.
I tried using a regular CD as well with no luck.

I don't understand, if the music plays and displays, the music is obviously loaded. There are quite a few Compuhost users here, if you can be more descriptive as to what you are having a problem with I'm sure we can get you going.
Good luck,

Me thinks he's trying to play off of a disc. Not gonna happen with CompuHost. They believe that computer CD-Rom drives are not meant to handle the riggers of playing a disc. I'd like to tell them if they were to add the code from their ripper to the program it would be possible.
Do what I do get KArafun and run it alongside CompuHost. They work together fine.
If he is trying to access karaoke files via the filler player, again it is not gonna work that way. And if you can get the karaoke to play it means it is loaded into your database.

Very stable well thought out products that make hosting easy. And definitely supports filler music as well.
I totally agree on Karma. Although PCDJKJ Pro is virtually the same program, Karma has a few nice bells and whistles that the other doesn't. I just wish they had a plug in or something that would allow you to play CDG's from the CD player on the fly like Siglos. Ask them about that and they said there were no plans to include it.
You can rip a song from disc on the fly and add it to your play list without adding to database which does save time and ensure you are not adding pirated music to your database. Overall, for the price, it's a great value. (not a salesman and don't get a commission)

I agree with Mrscott. I kinda of like the Justkaraoke it does need a music fader and I would use it. Very simple software. I have my reliable RoxBox to fall back on and it hasn't failed yet. I run Compuhost but not the upgrade to many issues . Love the 1.76 seems to work great for me. Havent tried the saxy one yet.

The new version has added fade in and fade out.

If you're really serious about the business, and understand the concept of IT TAKES MONEY TO MAKE MONEY, then you may wish to look at some of the more advanced software products like Compuhost (I Use and LOVE!), MTU Hoster etc. The software you choose is every bit as important as the quality of your sound system, bells and whistles DO count!
Good luck, tbreen
Yeah right... It doesn't matter what program you use. Find the one that does what you want and buy it. They all have a free trial period.
