That's actually an older study funded by MTU.

Yes it is, but I would say it certainly bears looking at, regardless of who funded it. What they say actually makes sense. That, with the retraction that SC sent out a few years back regarding their position on format shifting, makes computer based KJ's a little safer....

I think, and I might be wrong but, I think Most everyone here has no problem with format shifting (ie cdg to laptop) but never having the cdg but having cdg files on a laptop. If I'm wrong, I 'm wrong.

I don't care how old the study is, it's factual, correct, and the law.

Wrong, Sound Choice, and Chartbuster actually both have a problem with it. See Chartbusters website.

This is funny as hell. SC DOES have a problem with it, BUT, has offered MP3 dowloads online in the past, and will ( supposedly) offer MP3 discs in the future for easy PC loading- which doesn't preclude them from coming after you for using either of the two later... what a goof...

Actually SC has stated in a form that they would not go after a computer user that actually owns every disc for each computer - 1 set of discs per computer, they can't legally authorize/condone it, but would not pursue it legally.

CB also now offers downloads as well with graphics. SC downloads are usually music only.

And ummm...you honestly believe them? News Flash for ya Lon. Sound Choice sues first and ask questions later. If they are in your town, you are KJing with a hard drive...you're busted. If you are legal, you have to prove it. So SC says one thing, and does another..don't be so ..ummm..naive. Do you really think the sleps are going to walk up to a kj and ask them if they are 1 to 1?

I have talked with Kurt Slep on a personal level enough to believe it. If I am named in a suit, then I will have absolutely no problem proving it, and would be MORE than willing to show EVERY disc I have in my hard drive! SC or not. I keep them all with me at the show! All the way down to 8125!
