Per a request in another thread, here is a quick and easy way to correct and MP3+G Karaoke track where the lyrics highlighting is lagging. All you need to do in most cases is add a little extra silence to the intro to delay the start of the music and you can sync it up better.

Open Audacity and load the MP3 or WAV file for the track you want to edit.
Position the cursor at the beginning of the track by clicking the |<< button
Go to the Generate Menu and choose silence
In the popup box, enter the time in seconds for the amount you want to delay the start of the track. (.5 = 1/2 second = 500ms)
Under the file Menu choose Export to Wav or Export to MP3, whichever is appropriate, to re-save the track.

Most times 500ms is about all it takes. Sometimes a little less, sometimes a little more. I just use a little trial and error until I'm happy with the result.

I use MTU Hoster and it has built in compensation that is permanent. You can go like 3 steps up or down, I believe in 1/2 step increment, which moves up or down the lyric by like 500ms for each step.

It's amazing how much of a difference it makes on some of the newer Chartbuster tracks using just .2 seconds of silence at the beginning of the track. Thank You So Much. It seems to gain a little bit of extra by the end of the song but it's better than being behind.

I can't understand why Chartbuster doesn't do this before the discs are pressed???
