Has anyone ever had this song done at their show and if so, was it well received or a mood killer?

I'm assuming you mean the song by The Band Perry

I've never had it sung, but believe it's a beautiful song. I don't think it is a downer necessarily because of the lyrics. It's a slower sweet song that in my bar would be received well as long as it was sung well. A slow song by a bad singer never gets much praise. Two thumbs up from me.

I think any song that is on the slower side doesn't go over well on a rowdy up beat night. I think it has it place though.

I'm with Babs. I think on the right night, with the right crowd (& most especially if sung by a singer who could carry the song) that it could go over well.

My bar would most likely love it- we get a lot of ballad stuff. Again, given the right singer, since it's such a popular and well liked song, I don't think it would deaden a crowd. Not unless it's a huge rowdy party night.

(did i give ya enough variables there?) haha

oh, and btw, I've yet to hear it done at karoake.

It's actually not THAT slow. It does have an upbeat sounding rhythm to it...
