I have quite a few requests to play downloaded karaoke from an iPhone. The first time, I told her I’m not really a big techie guy I don’t know how to do it but next time she comes back I should be able to figure it out. Last night she was back. I really didn’t do anything to learn how to. For one thing, I don’t own an iPhone.

I told her I can probably play the audio portion but I haven’t got around into the video graphics yet. She said go ahead & play the audio because she knows the song by heart “Stuck Like Glue” by Sugarland. Of course, she'll say that. Why I even offered is beyond me. duh! I disconnected my iPod that I use for dead air/bumper music, with the stereo mini-jack - to her iPhone headset. It did play. The sound was ok. Not great but passable.

I really want to discourage this kind of process playing karaoke tunes from an iPhone. I can foresee some liability as a result, i.e, I messed it up, and some of their apps got erased, or dropped accidentally. I can’t even imagine the song copyright legality consequences. I think next time I’ll just say politely NO, I can’t do it. What’s next, singers bringing their thumb drive?

I've given a thumb drive with MP3G files on it to a KJ that I trust not to copy my songs from it. It's the best way to sing your favorite song at a show where the KJ refuses to play or can't play a customer's disc.

I have played music off peoples iPod a few times. One guy even brings in his own originals and sings along with them.

Well I can say it can be the future, how kj's accept it will be the difference. I have accepted i-pod from customers, i phone is no different.
