OK, redid the website and FB page, and need some input on how it looks.
The website is most important, and can be viewed at....
http://sskaraoke.com
Comment are welcome
The FB page is not as important, can t do much to change that, but comment are welcome....
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Selective ... 9732613593
And one more thing, anyone in here good with websites KEYWORDS (in meta tags). Just curious if each of my pages should have same keywords, or only keywords on the index page, or different keywords for each page? I am confused on this part. I am trying to bump up my placement on Google and yahoo searches.

OK, now I used to be a web programmer for a living, so keep that in mind and I'm just going to call it like I see it (not trying to be mean spirited in any way).
Overall the site looks alright. However, the first thing I noticed when it opened was the full color background. Generally that's something you want to avoid and the reason is readability of your site. Right now I find it hard to read the content of your pages because of that background graphic.
I think you've got the right content (or plans to add the right content). I like that you've kept it simple. That's very important. Consistent navigation is very good. Contact us page, again very important and you've got it covered.
Some things you might want to consider as you continue to update it. It's a fact that the average visitor will spend only 3-5 seconds on your home page, after that they either click to other pages on your site or they leave. So you want that main page to really grab their attention. Lots of visuals (pictures) and limited text are the best approach. Avoid animations or anything else that may cause any issues with loading that page. Also, studies have shown that visitors' eyes will start in the upper left corner of the page and slowly move out from there (60-70% of the viewing is in that upper corner). So plan your content, especially on the home page, accordingly.
Also consider maybe adding a web-form for people to contact you through your contact page. The email link and phone info is a must, but the web form can be very effective. Many users are too lazy to open their email program or may not get the right email program as their default when they click that mailto link. The easier you make it for them to contact you the more likely you are to get that all important initial inquiry.
Finally about Meta Tags and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) in general. My preference for meta tags is to have a set of tags that are on every page and then a few that are specific to each page. Remember when thinking of key words, most people who search are probably going to look for Karaoke and then the city and state you're in. So make sure to include those words not only in your meta tags but in the content of each and every page. Most search engines these days don't put a lot of importance on META tags. Most look more at the content of your pages so be sure both contain the keywords you think people will search for.
Another thing that is key to moving up in search engine rankings is having links to your site from other sites that have similar content. So link exchanges with other DJ's and KJ's can help, DJ and Karaoke sites as well. Get links to your site on as many locations on the internet as possible, but the more they're related to the same topic as your site, the better they'll impact your search ranking.
Hope that helps.

You could actually keep the background if you put the actual content of each page in a box with a solid color background. I thought about that while looking at your photo album. Imagine the text and other content of each page in a similar gray box over the top of the background. That would make it much eaiser to read and you could still keep that cool pic.

Comment on your FB page.
get more people to 'like' it. This is very important; the page I admin has over 2000 fans.
use good quality photos and add more photos.
encourage the fan to post on the wall.

Thanks for that info/comments (enzoab too!) I was thinking the same thing about the background making the text unreadable. I will insert a background color to make the text more readable.
And thanks for the info on putting in a webform to fill out on the contact page!. Great idea!!!!!
Now I just gotta figure out what to put on the wedding page.

Thanks Jian!
The FB page is new as of this last saturday, so not a lot of people have had a chance to LIKE it yet. I have about 150 people on the old FB PAGE (which was a person not a company) that hopefully will move over to the new one soon. And I will be pushing people to LIKE the FB page at my shows. Hopefully it will start growing over the next couple weeks.
Now to get some more photos on the FB as soon as I dig into my 1TB ext h-drive to find them. It make take a while to find them.

I don't like the karaoke songs list, unless you are going to tag each duplicate (or all songs for that matter) with the manu, there is no point in listing all the duplicates. I see a CB and PHM tag here & there, but otherwise it's pointless to list them all.

Yeah, in the process of renaming all the Karaoke songs too with manu tag on them, about 1/4 of the way done. After I get them renamed with manu tag, I am getting rid of the dupes and/or bad versions.
that's gonna take a couple months.
Then have to go thru the DJ songs and get rid of alot of dupes there too.

Yeah, I like the old one too, but with he new one it is gonna be a lot easier to update because it uses CSS style sheets. So no more going into the HTML and manually editing each page (it got to be a pain).
Some day I will be abale to afford a program like DREAMWEAVER and really make my life simple.
But is all is a lot better compare to the first site I had.....

Also, it seems like the list is a text file shown on white background. I think it would look better if you put the same background and menus on songs as well so people can navigate back to the original main page. I know it shows up on a separate window but it's easy to get lost when multiple windows show up.
Lastly, under Contact Us, the bottom frame shows a line that goes around the address and phone number. I was never a fan of frame showing lines around it. It looks better with the line at width=0.
If I really wanted to be picky, your side bar background is white. It would look better with same background color as the main page or even a complementary color. White just stands out too much.
my 2 cents worth.

Hmmmmm.... probably should change the text files to HTML, but my thinking that if they are text it give people (mostly people who we are doing wedding receptions for) can then save the text file to their PC. Mostly becasue I live in a rural are, and there are a lot of people still on dial-up. But I will consider it.
The border on the frames around the contact stuff will disappear when I am done.
as for the side bar (where facebook is) I will change it to the grey-ish color too.
Thanks eben!

OK....
Redid the background. I didn't like the feel with a solid background under the text, so I just darkened the background image.
Also added the contact-us web-form.
Let me know what ya all think.

Original is GONE GONE GONE. I deleted it. Probably should have saved it.

The new one will be 200 times easier to update.
