How are you KJ's insuring your equipment? I tried adding my $4,000 worth of equipment to my homeowners and found that I'm covered 100% at my house but if the equipment is damaged/lost/stolen elsewhere am only covered 10%. Is the solution a separate business policy and if so any recommendations?

Absolutely get a business policy. Talk to your current agent, many of them will offer discounts if you keep multiple policies with them.

Liberty Mutual doesn't do business policies unfortunately. My agent gave me the number of a local broker but I thought I'd get some recommendations from those of you with experience! :)

What you need is called an Inland Marine policy. That's what will cover you and your equipment whether at home, in transit or on a gig. There are very few companies that actually offer it so you'll have to look around. I go through WeDJ to get mine. I requires a membership with WeDJ to qualify (about $50 annually) but the insurance is discounted and also comes with a $1 Million liability umbrella.
