I love it when people sing metal. (or anything upbeat for that matter). Last week I had a guy sing "Back in Black" by ACDC and the crowd loved it. He did a great job, too. It was the Sweet Georgia Brown version, and I thought they did a good job on that song, too.
Now that I think about it, the bars that people do sing metal at are sort of rock 'n roll bars. Pretty much no country was ever heard in those bars until I started doing karaoke there.

I have a high metal crowd. Godsmack, Korn, Disturbed, Pantera, Tool, all the classic 80's-90's hair metal & alternative fav's from Poison to Nirvana. Some nights it's all hard rock/metal, others it's half and the other half country/pop. Occasionaly i'll get through a night hearing very little hard rock but not often.

For the metal die-hards, there is a company in Finland that puts out metal karaoke DVDs that are amazing. I have a collection of 4 or 5 of them. Good stuff. If anyone is interested, I'll find the link. Or I think you can just google "Hevi Karaoke" and you'll find them.

Ah never mind, found the link. http://www.hevikaraoke.fi/eng/newpages/ ... p=products

I have a crowd where metal, country, easy listening, soul, and funk all coexist.
On any given night I'll hear Tool, Sabbath, System of a Down, Toby Keith, Shania Twain, Garth Brooks, Kenny Rogers, James Taylor, Neil Diamond, Smoky Robinson, Temptations, Sly and the Family Stone, Whitney Houston, and so on.
Everything from cowbot hats to mohawks, suit and tie to baggy pants, full length gown to mini skirts.
It's a circus complete with a guy who shows up now and then and makes balloon animals at his table in an attempt to attrack females (it actually works well for him).

Do the Hevi Karaoke DVDs have the lyrics? What is the quality of music? I am very intrigued. I host karaoke across the street from a live venue that often has metal bands from all over the world coming through. This would be so dang awesome to have for them whenever they come over to the bar for a drink (although watching a metal band dance around to karaoke Steely Dan is a worthwhile sight.)

they are excellent quality. The Iron Maiden and Pantera are "band karaoke" too - you can tune in which instruments you want to leave out - lead, drums, bass, etc. Plain ol' karaoke, too. I particularly love the Nightwish, but lots of people sing Iron Maiden. All in all very good quality. I quit carrying my switching box and DVDs because I moved to different venues and there aren't many metal singers present. I don't think you'd regret picking them up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSvZR_Itb9A (Sonata Arctica) http://www.heavykaraoke.com/index.php?s ... &p=bandoke (link to site re: bandoke)

Bad Company was made from Instrumental on Karaoke Version.com
Hard To See came from ARKaraoke. It's some guy that makes decent homemade metal tracks.
