So I saw the banner, and curious I clicked the link.

What stood out on the site was that the software had DLC (downloadable content) Looking at the software, it looked like a repackaged PCDJ. So I looked at their DLC provider. Karaoke Locker.
http://www.karaokelocker.com/ or VenueVJ.com

All of the songs are "The Karaoke Channel" songs (Which IIRC is Stingray music, IE Sound Choice Songs)

The weird thing is... There's a ton of new songs there too.

I dunno, everything just seemed strangely familiar to me. I'm kind of curious how long Aria has been around.

Which is smarter? Just sticking to making/selling karaoke, while people all over the world create software FOR FREE that helps you sell it, or trying to compete with them and keeping it a closed loop while you blow your money into an industry (software) that you(the karaoke manu) knows nothing about?

Definitely looks like SC graphics on those newer songs. VenueVJ has always claimed their downloads are legal for commercial use (ie kj's in clubs) since it is PCDJ basically - but not sure how that is since SC has always claimed the Karaoke Channel songs are for private/home use only.
There is one club here that i'm aware of that advertises they can download any song directly through them (through their PCDJ/KJ software). I looked for several newer songs that I already have through other companies that aren't available through there.

It gets me to wondering about the split of SC IP. It almost appears that the split happened between Derrick and Kurt.

Derrick works for Stingray. It's as if they both have equal rights to the music, except for Derrick can't sell it under the SC name.

It's interesting to watch the difference in what each brother does with his share. Complete polar opposites.
