All Star, Billboard and Party Tyme I have heard of

I know most of the brands there, not so much the latin/spanish stuff. Couldn't find a disc or set that I actually needed though.

Billboard and Partytyme are both produced by Sybersound, All Star is owned by AUDIOstream.

An aside to the above is TOP TUNES a Karaoke Warehouse owned label, filed under section 8 in the trademark rules, just this year putting their name and logo in protected suspension.

Don't know but All Star uses the EXACT same backing as Top Tunes and is often superior than any other labels 8)

While we do agree on many things, the superior quality of Top Tunes is not one of them, not saying that they don't have some great renditions but overall I was not happy with them, thus my very limited library of their product.

I have some Top Tunes country collections and although some of them are pretty good, others are just barely useable. Also seems to at times be a significant difference in the audio levels from track to track.

OK, I agree with you, they were not superior on all but really had some that were amazing

You know, in my opinion the level difference is an issue for all brand including SC

Dam=n, we agree on another point!

Tommy there are programs out there that do a great job of "leveling" all of the songs in your system.

Since Top Tunes was around WAY before SBI, If the tracks are similar, it would be because SBI copied them.

Karaoke Bay was the next label used by the same folks who made Top Tunes. I have 1 ASK ( All Star) disc ( ASK1008), and the songs on it don't sound like the TT versions. However, that doesn't mean that the company didn't use TT tracks as well as others'

I have a 2 cd set from All Star and at least one of them has the TT logo in it. They didn't even hide the fact that they copied from TT.

I'm not going to 'speculate' as there is no way of knowing. But I do know SBI has been around quite a while, they have just become more viable within the last few years. I bought custom discs from them back in 2000.

In regard to the thread title, other "Department Store" brands such as Medacy ( Karaoke Party) and Sybersound ( Party Tyme) have produced some very nice tracks as well. As a matter of fact, I love the way Medacy records their Karaoke Party discs, because they are suitable for use as filler music, and I like having the lyrics come up for people to watch and sing along to in their seats- kind of priming the pump.
