Yes, you would need a scope. Really though, a sub is not going to effect vocals. Just the bass near them.

On reflection I recant. If your subs are not being used as subs... You will hear vocals through them.

For my system, with Yamaha S112V, I set the freq at 90Hz for most venues, so only the lowest bass would have even a little coming through. If I didn't route vocals through the sub, it wouldn't really matter.

Lon, have you ever used or personally heard the JBL SRX715? I know these are passive and most are saying go active for a second set up, and it might be the way to go for ease of set up etc. But just wondering your opinion on these. Seems they are similar in sound quality? The QSC you posted look very well built and of high quality. Im actually going to see if I can take a listen to these as well

the SRX are amazing speakers, the downside is they need to be pushed to sound good. those are looking for 800W just to essentially function, 1600W per speaker to be in their happy place and they do not do well under that (wish they did). unless your venue is massive, you may never get them the power they want to get the sound they are capable of.

Im actually going to see if I can take a listen to these as well The SRx series are a great speaker, many sound engineers for club bands love these. These particular speakers, you will want an amp that pushes 1600 watts per speaker. We didn't use these particualr, but the model before these. They are also bi-ampable. We just used full range and had 1 QSC RMX2450 bridged amp per speaker, killer sound, talk about clean!!!!!!

Ok, the best I can come up with is a load of sh!t but here goes. Vocals through a subwoofer is nothing but a fart. Really. What the subwoofer does do is to allow the mains to not have to go so low in frequency. This means the mains are tighter at the lower frequencies and thus sharper with vocals. So. The sub used does not have vocals going through it but does effect the vocal sound. I do expect ranch.
