We get some very hot days in Iowa. I am fortunate in that a tree covers my trailer with shade when in my driveway. Took me some practice to learn how to back the trailer up, it was comical the first few times but I'm not bad with it now. Other thing is that lifting heavy items into the trailer is a lot easier than the back of the SUV, my gator just gets tipped and slid on it's rail into place. Haven't had to load my 136 lb sub yet since it STILL hasn't arrived but I don't see a problem. I also make sure that the whole floor is taken up so items don't shift and slide around.

sidenote Rip.....
for your sub, go to GC or ASH and get a set of pop out amp casters. mount them on the back side of the sub. when it is time to leave just pop them in, tip it on its back and roll it out. putting them on the bottom just means you need to tip it on its back, pop them in and stand it back up, thats why i suggest the back.

Good idea, 'cept this sub already has wheels on the back already. Only issues are stairs and I don' want to beat the back up tipping it into my trailer.

stairs are an issue, but for the trailer, i have used these for years on bigger systems for bands and they work great. put them on the vertical back corners and never chipped a cab. they lasted for about 2 years a set, and that was loading in and out of trailers 5 nights a week.

I have been working on a cart design. The cart rolls of course, and is six feet long and 30" wide.. The speakers mount like they do on tri-pods, but they are on swing arms that swing in when travling between gigs, and then swing out when at the gig. Picture goal posts with speakers on them. The speaker arms would also extend for a wider spread between speakers.
The rack with the elecrtonics would mount on one side of the cart, and then a small table would mount from the rack to the other end of the cart to place your computer on if you use a lap top, or you could mount your pc tower under the table, and have your keyboard and monitor on top of the table.
You could then use the remaining space under the table to mount a drawer system of some sort, or a box to put your books and mics in, or whatever.
This system couldn't be used in all venues, but it could be terrific in others.

you can carry it with one hand at least I do

does not tip over more weight in bottom then in top
if there are a lot of kids around i use 2 straps on side closes to dj and strap it too table

Top is locked open put i can change angle just by turning swivels on each side

My overall footprint for my rack is 24" by 30". Hmmm, maybe 36", too lazy to go out and measure. My laptop hovers above the rack on a shelf. If your cart is 30" wide, how will you get it thru many doors? I like your idea of the all in one but 30" seems too wide and then any kind of stairs will cause issues won't it? My cart/table is very light and easily carried over stairs when necessary. It has tough wheels (I upgraded from the originals I bought) and is rated for 800 lbs or more (heaviest item is my sub at 136 lb). I would like to just show up, plug in and go, but I do many venues and need to be totally mobile and prepared for any type of stairs/stage/set up area. One bar I do some times has an area so tight, I don't even use my cart/table. I set up on the edge of a pool table and both PAs on just on the outside of the pool table. Not often but again, footprint and the path to the stage is different wherever I go and the cart you are describing would rarely work for my apps.

Ok, this just hit me...... .....how about a rack mounted on a small battery powered hovercraft......couldn't do stairs, but maybe a handicap ramp.......

Yeah, it's a good point about doorways. 30" may be too wide. My rack I use now is 24" and I have it on a cool little hydraulic table with a foot pump. I can raise it up about 30" which is more than enough.
My rack box is a twelve slot TopTune brand. Made out of felt covered, 13-ply plywood. It is a heavy cuss, but it has protected my equipment really well. However, I'm not getting any younger, and it seems like it keeps getting heavier! So, I am looking at options now to upgrade/change/make easier.

I like your style, mrmarog! Pretty ingenious.
