I want to do karaoke thru my laptop. I am not a KJ, it's just a hobby and pasttime. I bought the Power CD+G Burner, downloaded the free home version of Virtual DJ and trial version of Siglos Karaoke Professional software.
There was someone on YouTube, who said to rip your CD+G's to an external hard drive using Power CD+G Burner. He said to record CD+G and MP3 together, and mentioned zipping the files afterward. I am confused. I noticed that you can also rip your CDG's to a zip file. I have recorded most of my CDG's ripping them in both formats together. But I am now considering re-formatting my external hard drive, which of course would erase what I have recorded thus far, but then ripping all the songs to a zip file.
Am I putting the cart before the horse, is it overkill? I've noticed a difference in the way the zipped file displays the artist and song, and that it is different than copying to CDG & MP3 format.
Thank you in advance.
