Hi Guys and Gals

I saw Koyote's setup and thought I share the one Im working on now. The pics are about a week old and I've already made changes. Any Questions, feel free to ask.

I was having problems uploading pics, so I hosted them on amazon.com
Then had the 600pixel limit. resized and reuploaded, then got a "It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image"

Left PC is for lookup, preview DJ and Backup
Right PC is dedicated KJ

I have 6 15amp switches, I was going to buy a Rack Switch but the reviews on the cheaper ones were not so good. Theses are very serviceable but somewhat expensive at $17 per triple switch.



each switch controls 1 duplex outlet



Im using a inverted wire shelve to hold the laptops and mixer
Works good for ventilation as well as wire access







The 40" width was designed to fit perfectly on the rear deck of my Mazda Hatch









Currently switches are as follows from left to right
1 - Left PC and Monitor
2 - Mixer and wireless Mics
3 - Right PC and Monitor
4 - Amplified PA Speaker
5 - Disco Ball Motor and lights
6 - Singer Flood lights

Im planning to buy this and make mounts for it

Holy smokes. Looks like you have a lot of set up time involved.

My set up time is 5 minutes to have music going, 10 to have karaoke going.

I'm curious what your set up time is....

Also, why do you use a 2nd computer for "look ups"? And if you are previewing songs, you can just get another sound card and assign "a preview player" to it. That is not only more cost efficient, but more "time efficient" in terms of your set up/tear down time. Also, ergonomics is better to be using only one computer.

Wow...I'm a newby myself to KJing, but I have been singing and playing my whole life through, including helping setting up for 5 piece bands, one of my own back in the 70'-80's when we didn't have the nice compact lighter equipment we have today. It took us with 4 or 5 people 1/2 hr to 45 minutes including messing with 5 amps, 3 wired mics 16 channel mixer, preamps, 6-100 lb speakers, and tuning up.

With all you your equipment it seems a bit much just for karaoke. Have you tried loading your gear in the trunk and backseat of your car or van then unloading it all and setting it up and get'er running, just to see how long it takes?

I got just 3 speakers,(2 powered + a subwoofer),a 13" flatscreen TV (monitor), monitor stand, 2 speaker stands, mixer, laptop, 4 song books, 4 wireless mics, and a gym bag of cable, likes been said, I'm up and git'n music out there in 10-15 minutes and I'm a raw newby, only just started KJing, but been singing karaoke about 3 years, 68 and singing with bands my whole life through. Love karaoke for simplicity, especially using a karaoke dedicated laptop. I just started KJ this past week and have done 2 shows, and given out my phone # twice to attendee's.

One tiny real bit of criticism, your first few pics, am I seeing right, using a speaker for a table pedestal with plywood or wired rack for the top! I think you will find you're gonna need speaker stands, floor mounted speakers aren't gonna cut it no matter how loud ya turn'em up. I would never and could never abuse a speaker like that, especially not as a pedestal for a table. I wish you luck in your endeavor!
