Now, you might argue that nobody is forcing me to use the Internet to satisfy my Karaoke needs, but, then again, the B&M stores are forcing me to go in that direction when I can't get what I want (and it's legally available elsewhere).
exactly. if company "A" does not offer what you want or need but company "B" does, your business leaves company "A" and goes to company "B".
easy to blame piracy for their problems as SC has blamed piracy for theirs, but the same rules apply...
the modern KJ needs new tracks, available while hot, at a reasonable price, without the dupes we all are loaded with.
Clark for example did have new tracks, some on the hot 100 list, not a reasonable price, but no dupes.
Sunfly, SBI, Zoom, Mr Entertainer, and through their suppliers like Tricerasoft do offer new tracks, in time while they are hot, a reasonable price, and no dupes. Who got the business? not because of piracy, because the legal hosts did not buy from them but from the other companies instead who offered what they wanted.
SC did offer the new hits, but they were 3-6 months too late after they either went cold or we all already had several copies from other manus, not a reasonable price unless we used the pre-pressed discs loaded with dupes.
