This site has interesting articles. I keep coming across it while looking up other issues. I posted a link to another of their articles on the Paul Williams thread.

My former partner's son is an aspiring musician/songwriter and has been trying to take advantage of the internet to become known but basically it amounts to giving his stuff away for free. He recently got involved with some Nashville producers and the first thing they had him do was take down his content. It will come back up later when it is promotion time but basically what was happening was what is described in the article. He was just one of thousands posting their songs for free hoping to be noticed.
