Has anyone ever heard of Radio Starz discs? I just bought one by "accident", but man! They look pretty cheap, even on the lyrics screen, but their musical renditions are FANTASTIC! I dare to say, better than Sound Choice!

Sevarin, check out this thread, (Which CDGs to Buy, Which Ones to Check Out, and WHich Ones to Avoid at All Costs?) Knightshow provides a link with all of the Radio Starz discs. I have 5 or six of them and they are pretty good for the most part. Hunger Strike by Temple of the Dog on the Pearl jam disc is awesome.
I thought I had the Journey disc, but I can't remember if it's at home or at my brothers house. All in all they're a bargain. Rudy.

I don't know if Radio Starz is better than Sound Choice, some may be, but FM by Steely Dan is better by SC than by RS at least in my opinion. Sunfly also just came out with Even Flow by Pearl Jam and the sample sounded a little better than the Radio Starz version, hard to tell by the sample sometimes. Rudy.

The version is fantastic, except that they got the order of singers wrong between the first and second verse. They've got Eddie singing first, which is not correct. Whenever someone does the song, I try to make sure to let them know this.

I heard the Cher - Believe version and it almost sounds like the Original song. The SC version compared to this one sucks. Also the Pearl Jam - Black version on Radio Starz is fantastic.

Radio Starz is a GREAT buy for the money, most times I prefer them over other versions I have of the same songs.
You should also check out Country Starz--made by same manufacterer but they stopped production. Nice deal if you can find em though

Does anyone know if Radio Starz is available as a collection? If it's that good I'd be interested in buying all of their discs.

Never officially sold as a set as far as I know. They have been on occasion bundled together for a special promotion and even found on e-bay like that.

I did a couple of Yahoo searches and I can't even find a website for the Radio Starz company which seems weird. They're not that widely sold it seems either. I did find a bunch of different discs on ebay. With shipping they seem to go for $16-$20 so I don't see how they bargain discs other the if the quality is outstanding. They do have some of the songs I want that don't seem to be that widely available from other manufacturers though. I guess I'll have to buy a couple discs and find out for myself what all the fuss is about.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but does it seem like Radio Starz puts 2 to 3 more songs per disc than most manus.

yep, they got that reputation by being able to squeeze more songs on most of their discs... the notable exceptions are the Dixie Chix ones!

Radio Starz has bee my favorite for years I use them whenever i can. I got started when I was looking for a song done by Billy Joel called To Make You Feel My Love. I stumbled over the Garth Brooks version on Radio Starz and was sold on the quality in a second. Nothing came close. Try Cher and james Taylor Great!!!

While searching for Radio Starz I came across this website
KaraokeWH.com they have 26 discs listed for Radio Starz and sell lots
of other manu's as well. I also noticed that you can get custom discs
for $1.99 a song and boast they have 2524 songs available. Is this site
legal? They have a large inventory of different discs and even sell the
Sound Choice Foundations for $40.00 under what Sound Choice sells
them for with no shipping.
Just thought y'all would like to know.

Most internet stores will sell the Sound Choice stock for less than what SC sells them directly. They have admitted in the past that they do not want to be direct competition for the retailers that sell their product. On the otherside for those that prefer to buy from SC direct, they do offer reward type deals on occasion.

I have to say, I went and listened to some Radio Starz demos just based on this forum topic. Not that impressed! The graphics looked cheap too. Am I perhaps looking at the wrong ones?
I guess I'm spoiled, I started Karaoke with a bunch of Soundchoice and Chartbuster stuff and I got used to it.

yes, the graphics are simple. so WHAT? I've seen the same from other companies. The graphics aren't at all what I consider for purchasing power. Sound and timing on the words IS.
I own all but one of the discs, and love 'em! To each their own.
