Hi guys, I have a friends wedding reception coming up next saturday.
It will be daytime, no karaoke, just disco.
I would like to do something a bit special.
Par can lighting wont work and I have been impressed with the laser cluster.
Trouble is I have also seen some poor ones.
Does anyone know a definite good one I can get in the YUK.
I don't have time to go looking and on the internet they all claim to be magic.
Thanks

Remember you don't have to buy them, but rent them. Is there a place in your area that rents lighting gear? If so go in and talk to a rep there.

Not this time.
I fancy one of those cluster lasers but have to justify buying it.
Secretly it is me being selfish.

I just purchased a chauvet scorpion storm rgx on ebay for $220 new and shipped. Very small and lightweight. I did a private party Saturday that turned out to be dj only. I brought my light, my tree and my fogger. Everybody was amazed by this, it throws out lights on the floor, the walls and the ceiling. A little fog and it creates red and green beams in the air.

Yes. Thats the one I think.
Does one work okay or would two at different angles make it special ?

Hmm. That is food for thought.
I have checked out the two lasers recommended.
So far nothing on ebay UK.
After paying import tax on compuhost I realise buying from the states is expensive.

lasers and mirrors are NOT a good combo... remember, its radiated light, and can cause damage to the retina if exposed directly to the eye. Not the type of light you want to randomly throw around.

Just in case anyone is confused, my post was a joke. He is playing disco music - so disco balls. Hee hee Okay maybe not as funny as I first thought. Tough crowd

Disco Balls are highly underated in this high tech age. Now this new Disco Stick thing they sing about is evidently an enhancement of the cheap balls and is supposed to add to the fun.

I don't do many big weddings--but DAYTIME and LIGHTING seem to be opposites
You need to check out the venue and room -talk to the manager and ask if the shades will be down or left open for a VIEW --making effective lighting difficult

Leopard, so I guess if you're doing a disco gig it would be best to get the Disco Stick and Balls? Couldn't resist, just asking.

Got it today.
22 hours after ordering.
It appears to work well in dim light without smoke.
Far more beams than a ball.
Just found out the wedding will be televised for a series in January on Sky One called 4 Weddings.
And I will be there without any balls.
