Had the chance to check out SkipDog's show in Buffalo area, and it was great! Skip is a nice guy and a wonderful singer. He had several innovative ideas that I will steal 8-), and did a fantastic job of keeping the show running at a high energy level.

Every time I have gone to a show run by someone here, I have been impressed. I guess it only makes sense, because being here and listening to what people say means you 1) care, and 2) have the smarts to find the best sources of information.

Went tonight to a unique karaoke show at the Pickwick and Frolic, a top-of-the-line comedy club in Cleveland. It has probably the best production values of any karaoke show I have seen, and Raul, "The Mojo Man", is a great entertainer.

This is a show that cost some serious money to put together to begin with, and might be a bit high-end for most venues. They have the unique marketing ploy of catching people as the doors open after their matinee show, and having a high-energy come-on to pull the showgoers into the full-blown nightclub stage area where karaoke is held.

redbrick met me there, and we had a blast. We also hooked up with Ron from Alabama, and will be heading out to a couple more nights of karaoke. (Going to Scorchers, for anyone who wants to meet us there.)

Cleveland is looking like great karaoke after several good nights in Buffalo, and will be a tremendous end to my trip. Kudos to redbrick for showing me this great karaoke show!

Got canceled and moved to May. Unfortunately there is no opportunity for a karaoke tour, since it now involves my wife and an Alaska cruise. She isn't in as much love with karaoke as I am ... of course not many are. 8-)

I am hoping to do another trip early in the fall.

mckyj57, it was a pleasure meeting you last night. Glad you enjoyed P&F and thanks for sharing some karaoke wisdom with me - a relative karaoke newbie.

Hope you enjoy the next few days in Cleveland and I'll definitely try to make it out again later this week to hear some great country singing from you and Ron from Alabama. Are you going to get a hat to wear now when you preform? That was a good look!

You know I will be out! I know it isn't as easy for you to make it out, but I will hope to come somewhere west toward you on Tuesday. Wednesday is at Scorchers, of course.

My wife and my teacher are both after me to buy the boots, a fancy shirt, and a hat. I see a trip to Pard's Western Shop in my future.... 8-)

Back home again today. Had a great trip. Went to 20 different karaoke gigs on the 19 nights, missing only three nights for lack of availability or rest.

I got to meet two forum members, 4003fg and redbrick. It was a real pleasure spending time with them and learning a bit from each.  I am going to keep in touch with redbrick especially, and expect him to come down and visit me in Cincinnati area soon. (If anyone else is going to the Queen City, let me know and I will help you find gigs and maybe meet you there.)

I got to go to gigs in North Carolina, Virginia, New Jersey, and New York for new states. I am trying to keep a decent count of the venues and states I have been to, and it looks like 20 states and 5 provinces/territories at about 165 different venues to date. I am sure someone else has done more, but I have had a blast doing my little tours.

Of the areas I went to, I would say Cleveland and Virginia Beach had the best and most plentiful karaoke. Syracuse and Buffalo were good as well, each with a nice 7-day karaoke club.

All in all a great trip. We went to 9 Revolutionary War battlefields, and one for the War of 1812. Next trip is probably the Pacific Northwest this fall. My father and I will also set off again in 2009 for some series of destinations, God willing and the creek don't rise.

Thanks to everyone who responded to help me find karaoke. It is always a blast meeting people -- karaoke people are tops when you meet them face to face.
