Thanks Kurt. Exactly what I'm looking for and good advice too.

I'm in the process of breaking into the local music scene and that's why I want to sing at this Blues Jam night. These guys can get me hooked up with bands, gigs etc. Some of them are serious musicians and several play locally for money. Right now I'm polishing my act, learning a bunch of new songs and trying to refine my vocals. I've been practicing a lot and have made real progress. I'll be doing a one man show singing to Karaoke tracks. Been preparing and rehearsing for several months and now I'm finally ready. I don't have to do ANY blues songs. I just WANT to be able to do a few with some great musicians, I think it would be a real thrill. I have a small gig Tuesday night for a local business networking get together. I plan on passing out a bunch of business cards, maybe I can get some private parties or corporate parties etc. I'll do the bar scene for a while and hopefully it will lead to some weddings, private parties and corporate gigs.
