Uh, according to law, he is a citizen. His parents were in the military at the time and he was born on base which is considered US territory. He can in fact hold dual citizenship if he so wishes. Obama has said he was born in Honolulu, but his staff says one hospital and he himself says another hospital. I think he was born in the US, but someone has goofed on the facts.

I beg to differ. Look up 1 John 2:18, 2:22,4:3 and 2nd John 7. Also there is scripture saying there are MANY antichrists. I hate bringing up my religion in a forum where there are many different beliefs just out of respect. I just had to clarify some things. No hate!

We are facing the most important election in our country's history since the Civil War. One thing that seems to a given is that both houses of congress will become democratic. Please recall that after the Executive and Legislative branches came under Republican control, the Democrats strove to "educate" the public about the awful consequences of having elected one party to run everything. Of course, now that the "shoe may end up on the other foot", it appears that no democrate are concerned any longer about the "IMbalance of power"
There is little time left to research the issues and determine which candidate will do the least harm. Neither candidate will do that much "good". But I do know which one could end up doing the most damage, perhaps even irrevocable damage! Unfortunately, 90% of the American people do not understand the dynamics of the challenges at hand and the consequences of each of the solutions offered by the candidate. Most often, neither the candidates nor their websites articulate their positions in a way that clearly defines the problem, articulates their solution in the most specific of terms and provides the the pros and cons of their proposal. Phrases like: "change" "redirect" "a new direction" "get things moving" don't mean a thing to me! I need plans and no one is really offering any concise plans - we have been offered slogans. Of course, in fairness to the politicians, they're following the sales adage of KISS (keep it simple stupid). They know the American public is not truly up to understanding the problems, much less the divergent alternative "solutions" being offered!
For those of you who have made up your minds as to who you will vote for, consider the following if you really want to place a vote based upon rational thinking:
A) We learn in school in the study of "Selling and Salesmanship", that human beings buy most everything based upon emotions and after their purchase they then ascribe a rational reason for their (emotional) decision. PLEASE DO NOT SELECT YOUR PRESIDENT ON EMOTIONS; LEARN THE FACTS!
B) Our society accepts, without question, the adage "I will believe it when I see it"! In fact, we human beings actually develop positions working in the exactly the opposite fashion -- "We see it AFTER we believe it." To further explain: consider as an example, those who believe in a "Supreme Being". People who come to such a belief do so with no verifiable evidentiary material supporting the existence of a "Supreme Being" Once, however, someone comes to such a belief, no evidence to the contrary will shake that reality. And in fact, those who come to believe in a "Supreme Being", see, thereafter, all the evidence that they need to support their belief in his/her existence everywhere they look.
C) The US Tax Code is a massive, overwhelming tome of legislation. It often takes specialists (lawyers and accountants) to interpret it and sometimes the final arbiter of what the Code means ends up in the courts. Right now, one of the biggest issues being discusssed during the last days of the presidential campaign is taxes. And, frankly, it is a topic of utmost importance at this time - more so than ever before. In short, it will effect the economic well-being of our country for years, perhaps decades, to come. And I believe (with no evidence) that a wrong decision now can have devastating effects that our society may never be able to recover from!
(1) If the wrong decisions are made, we could be plunged into a longer recession and the possibility exists that we could enter a depression. How many of you are aware that the tax rates were raised after the stock market crashed in 1929, contributing to the economy going into a depression?
(2) Neither candidate has brought up Social Security - which is really quite unusual for an election year. Social Security is in the "dumper", bankrupt, kaput Without funds being provided from the General Fund, it will not survive. Where are those funds going to come from?
(a) I am not going to bore you with the legal/accounting definition of what a "fund" is. What I do want to say is that once the Social Security Fund cannot pay Social Security Benefits, by definition it is bankrupt and no longer a "fund". That day is soon approaching. And please note, and this is important, the predictable amount of the obligation that is due to Social Security recipients and Medicare recipients are staggering.
(b) In order to pay these obligations, your taxes will be raised. But, "they" don't call them "taxes" they call them "conributions" to the FICA and Medicare funds. Now...., and here comes an explanation of the most subtle and most devious chicanery of all... WHEN YOU PAY MONEY INTO THOSE FUNDS, YOU MIGHT NEVER SEE THAT MONEY AGAIN AND AT BEST YOU MIGHT SEE SOME OF IT WHEN YOU RETIRE. MEANWHILE, EVERY DOLLAR YOU PUT IN THOSE FUNDS IS SUBJECT TO A CURRENT INCOME TAX!!!!
b) When I began studying accounting in 1969, the FICA rate was 4.2% on the first $4800 of earnings. Therfore, the most anyone paid out of pocket for FICA was $202. If a person was in the maximum tax bracket (50%), he would pay out $202 for FICA and $100 in income tax. So... he'd be out a total of $300.
c) Today, there is effectively no maximum income level for the averaqe person when it comes to paying Social Security & Medicare Contributions. For a family who makes $100,000 in gross earnings, they will pay in 7.85% of their entire earnings. That amounts to $7,850 being deducted from their paycheck(s). Let's say that such a family is in the 25% tax bracket. That being the case, in addition to the $7850 deducted from their pay for those "contributions", that family will also pay $1962 in income taxes on the $7850 they never actually received. In total: $9,812 goes to the US treasury; that's 9.8% of what that family earned on top of the income taxes they still owe on the remainder of their payroll earnings that acutally makes it into their pockets. So what is the actual tax rate that the taxpayer is paying on his taxable income?
AGAIN NEITHER CANDIDATE WANTS TO DEAL WITH THIS HOT POTATO. BUT WHICH CANDIDATE IS MOSTLY LIKELY GOING TO DO THE LEAST HARM WHEN IT COMES TO THE TAX CODE AND OUR ECONOMY?
If you don't know the true and full tax policies of each candidate... if you don't know the likely consequences of their policies... if you don't know who will most likely do the most harm ------then should you be voting at all?
One candidate has freely admitted that he believes that the tax code should be used for income re-distribution... The same candidate has vowed to eliminate capital gains taxes on small businesses. If you don't understand the significance of both of these positions, should you be voting?

The constitution is the law, and many experts conclude he dosn't fit the definition of "Natural Born Citizen", but nobody is going to call him on it, because of his, and his family's extensive military service....

It took a non-binding resolution in April 2008, so he could run.....non-binding...

I stand corrected. The word "anti-Christ" is used in the New Testament. Though there is no description of this person. No hate here.

That's OK Sheree. The descriptions of the antichrist are muddied and open to misinterpretation. One could find enough allusions to say he is a green alien monkey trainer. BTW, I heard you sing on your webbie. Very beautiful voice.

It is scary to think how many people will vote that have no clue what either candidate is saying they will do when in office. They vote dem or rep because that is what they've been taught growing up. I'm trying to teach my girls to be well informed before they vote. I don't want them to be a slave to believing one party is better than another. Of all my years voting this is the first time I am scared the country will make the wrong decision. Our economy is to fragile for the wrong person to be in office.
