I looked a the few you mentioned and am left wondering why the QSC PLX1804 wasn't recommended by you. It's only 13 pounds, is $100 less than the 1802 and delivers 900w at 4 ohms. I MUST be missing something here......??
The 1802 is 21lbs and sells for $899. the cost doesn't matter much but the weight does.13 lbs vs. 21 lbs.
I didn't mention the PLX1804 simply because it can not be bridged to a 4 ohm load, that is also one of the reasons why the 1804 costs less than the 1802. The PLX Series amps QSC makes that have a 2 at the end of their model number notates that it is 2 ohm stable in stereo. Generally speaking if it is stable @ 2 ohms stereo it will be stable @ 4 ohms bridged. You may have also noted that the PLX1804 doesn't spec to 2 ohms stereo, only 4 ohms. Hope that helps. By the way QSC builds some pretty bullet proof amps. I wasn't to sure if weight, quality or money was the deciding factor for you.

Probably because they are going for the best technical match. But 900 watts will be enough to do quite well with those Yorkvilles. The nominal level you want to match is 1000, but if you fall within 85%-150% of program power you will be just fine assuming you don't "dime" all the sliders. At the high end, those Yorkvilles will get as loud as your SRM450s with a max SPL of 126db.
Assuming that amp really puts out 900w at 4ohms, and as a QSC I bet it meets spec, you should do just fine. (LondonLive and Lonman, correct me if I am wrong.)

I guess maybe I should have asked you a question or two. Do you plan on running anything other than what the bar already has installed, like a monitor, or are you strictly looking for something to power the two Yorkvilles? You know I've been seeing more and more Yorkvilles being installed into establishments around these parts. Must be words getting around finally. I'm going to be quoting a bowling alley on replacing their JBLs with Yorkvilles in the near future.

Okay i just returned from one venue and found the speakers to be Yorkville Elite EF 508 - 500 watts@8 ohms. they're daisy chained together. Owner says they're about 2 years ago and the djs really push these things. The other venue i'm pretty sure have the same exact pair. They are 'daisy chained'? How many are on one connection, this makes a HUGE difference in the amp selection as it will have to run stable on lower ohms. I think he said "pair", so I presume 2. They are very nice speakers. I didn't see where he said pair, but didn't really go back up to earlier posts.
I also was wondering how many speakers were chained...but I saw "the other venue i'm pretty sure have the same exact pair" above, which is what I was basing it on.

Alright for $350 Carvin makes a damn good amp that will power the speakers in a bridged mono configuration at 1000 watts @ 4ohms (the speakers program ratings at when paralleled 4 ohms).

23 pounds so the weight isn't overly heavy.

I know I'm new to this forun but I'll share what little I know.... Just got them in this week the pxi15" powered subs from American Audio. I added them to the Powered PXI 10"s in the karaoke club I do and the rich full sound is far better then most I have seen around. Why worry about Amps when all you have to do is just replace a speaker (sub). I just use the KISS system... If I blow an amp the whole system goes out, top or bottom. But if I blow a speaker just replace it... The powered speakers today for clubs are effecient and priced right.

Your right, I forgot all about Carvin. They make a nice amp for the money. Pretty much has all the features anyone would want at a decent price. I still would probably go to the DCM1500 though, just because thats the kind of guy I am.

Probably because he stated the 2 clubs he is working both have a set of speakers & doesn't want to bring his powered speakers in anymore which he was doing.

Sorry, extremely late night lastnight- ever karaoke til 6am for a private gig? These people kept going for 4 extra hours overtime at $75/hr OT plus a $60 tip. THAT alone will pay for this new equipment! YAAAAAAAAAYY!!!!
Thank YOU Lonman for the lead on the Carvin Amp DCM1000- sounds exactly like what i need and several hundred dollars less than the 1802. That money saved will buy me a couple of new sm58s- i really DO appreciate it!
And MUCHO MAHALO to you LondonLive for your expertise and suggestions!
I will order a Carvin today and am going to the music store right now to pick up a Yamaha mg124cx mixer you all recommend which is only $269. I GREATLY appreciate you ALL taking the time, energy, and resources to help me pick out quality equipment!
If ya ever come to hawaii........i have friends in High and Low places, ! J.R.

I'm jumping on this one. It bridges to 700 watts at 8 ohms, which will push my sub for the "big thump" package we are selling on special occasions (like Thanksgiving).

Save your back and go with a QSC PLX2 amp. You can thank me later. Go on the website and find the right one for your speakers. They are anywhere from a few hundred watts at 12 lbs to about 3000 watts at about 25 lbs. They're CLEEEEAN and roadies love em!
