Take the pain out of Picture by being creative with lyrics ... i've heard some pretty smutty versions of it...

LMAO Ditto

Any song that gets that over done ends up with creative versions of it. The ones I've heard are pretty good or at least entertaining.

Picture is not in my catalog. I only get asked about it 1-2x per month.

You are lucky Randy. I get asked about it 1-2x a night. For me it's gotta be there or I'd get skinned alive.

So rather than fight it I look on it's positives. Except for one little itty-bitty line it's quiet. And I make sure it's quiet since I control levels. Then I leave the stage and take a four minute break....use the rest room, talk to people, even go outside.

I try to not duplicate songs for each show, so most of my regulars are coming in early to reserve the song, be it picture, or summer nights, leather & lace, mockingbird, etc.

I think it keeps the show from turning into a contest, and I do hate contests! :!:

If at the beginning of the show the song was done, I explain that if the new singer wants to wait around until the end of the show, I will allow them to repeat a song. ( usually they don't hang around that long, or I can get them to put in a few other songs that haven't been sung yet! And the original singer has left the building)

Funny...I go outside too when that song is on. Most people do.

As long as it's their turn in the rotation, I don't care if they sing Skip To My Lou a capella.
Duets are NOT out for me.
I don't hear that many summer nights, though I am getting tired of Picture.

If I could find someone to sing a Stevie Nicks duet with me I would be happy. :)

Pick me pick me..

If a singer requests a duet I will try to bring in someone else. Failing that, I will do it.

On the other hand, duets are a great tool to get newbies up. I might walk over to a lady who doesn't normally sing and say something to the effect that I like singing a certain song, but I need help, and would she? yada yada. People who won't sing alone may well sing a duet or in groups....
